EA, STOP CHANGING THE RULES AFTER WE PAY!

I am extremely disappointed with the new Mayor’s Pass progression system.

Players purchased the Premium Pass expecting the same progression mechanics as previous seasons. Instead, AFTER we paid, you changed the rules and restricted progression to limited Daily and Weekly assignments. Bonus assignments no longer help us advance through the pass and only count towards Contest of Mayors rankings.

This is simply unacceptable. You cannot change the functionality and value of a paid product after customers have already purchased it.

I’m also tired of EA trying to monetize absolutely everything in this game. More restrictions, more artificial barriers, more ways to squeeze money out of loyal players.

This is the last Premium Pass I will ever purchase.

Do you actually care about your player community, or are we just walking wallets?

EA, DO BETTER!

I actually completed Mayors Pass and city album 4 days ago, much earlier than usual. I still don't like the changes because of the effect on Contest of Mayors, but to claim there was no notice before the season started is nonsense, as others below me have demonstrated.

  • Not sure why you’re having a rant on the latest changes. I payed for the pass at week one and I am actually further along than I was in previous CoMs. I finished the event track upgraded the rift tower to max and got just about all the buildings. I’m on tier 41 now where in previous challenges I would only be tier 38 as the cap has been removed.😇

  • All the changes were highlighted in the game at the very start of the season, in addition to being highlighted on this forum.

Play your way, progress faster: the Mayor's Pass is now all about you.

    Greetings, Mayors!

Starting with the upcoming season, we are introducing a major evolution to how progression works in SimCity BuildIt. Over the years, we have heard your thoughts on the rhythm of our seasons—how daily life, competitive weekends, and personal schedules intersect with your city-building goals.

Our goal with this system update is simple: give you clearer paths to the rewards you want, whether you are checking in casually throughout the week or aiming for the very top of the leaderboards. These changes will go live on the 14th alongside the launch of the brand-new season.

    Clearer Roles for Every Task

Starting with the new season, we are drawing a clear distinction between how you earn seasonal rewards and how you compete against other Mayors:

Mayor’s Pass Progression: Your regular daily and weekly city tasks will now be dedicated specifically to moving you forward along the Mayor’s Pass track. Completing these familiar assignments will reward your daily commitment with steady, meaningful progress toward unlocking seasonal landmarks and currencies.

Contest of Mayors: Leaderboard competition will now be driven solely by bonus tasks. This change gives competitive players greater agency and control over when and how they participate, allowing you to focus your energy on tournament placement on yoIur own terms.

It is also explained in the calender of the new srart of this COM season
