Q. I have 12 specialization buildings, how come I only have 8 tasks?
A. Only 8 tasks can be active at any one time. Once you complete a task, a new task bubble will appear above another specialization building

As of now, it could be more than 8 at a time -- today (April 30 2016) while working on the beach epic I counted 12 tasks active simultaneously.
