Epic Project Tasks... (1 Token Per Week?)

I have an Epic Project in progress.  There are 7 Tasks available.  3 of those Tasks are requesting 5 Corn.  2 of those Tasks offer 1 point as reward for completion while the 3rd offers 3 points.  (Why is it that most items only yield 1 point towards the Project?  Why do higher cost/quality items not yield higher points?  If a Plank or Hammer or Table earns 1 point then why doesn't something more intensive like a Cupboard, Backpack, or Lawn Mower earn 3 points?  Makes logical, practical sense to me.)

Ok, I feel that 3 out of 7 Tasks requiring the same item limits my ability to fulfill all three of the Tasks.  My level 38 city has an upgraded Farmers Market to 15% reduction in production time. Since Commercial production facilities only produce 1 item at a time, producing 15 Corn items will require my Market 12.75 hours to produce.  There are 3 hours and 46 minutes remaining in me current Epic Project.  With no ability to request new Tasks that could potentially make use of one of the 299/340 items in my city's Storage, I think it's safe to say that I will not be getting above the 60 points that I've been able to collect towards this project.  It also makes me feel as though there is no chance that I will ever get to that Tier 80 mark for Llama Tokens.  I can also say that there is a "snowball's chance" of me every achieving an upgrade that produces Cheetah Speed-Up Tokens.

(*Let's not even touch on the fact that at a rate of 1/6 of a Token per Epically updated building per day, a SimCity BuildIt player earns, basically, 1 Token per week for a Llama Token.)

...  ...  Wait! 1 TOKEN PER WEEK [Llama Token]?!  Granted, Turtle Tokens are earned 1/3 at a time, so 2.3 on those, per week.  I have no idea what fraction Cheetah Tokens earn at.  I'm guessing...  1/8th?  Dare I say,  [gasps] 1/10th per day?  Who knows?  Le'me know, please.

Without any way to request new/replacement Tasks, I am doomed to fail this Task.  Not because I haven't tried.  I've been at this Task since late last night and most of this waking day.  I am failing because the game mechanics are preventing me from being able to succeed.  So, if this is any indication of what I should expect from Epic Projects, I guess I won't be spending much time on them as they currently play.  Maybe I will revisit this aspect of SimCity BuildIt in the future, but I have a city that demands those valuable resources and can make far better use of those expensive resources than the Epic Projects do.

I have 14 x gold buildings so far, and i'm actually struggling to spend the speed-up tokens.

1 gold speed up token will burn through 12 hours of production in 1 hour, that means you need to have a LOT of materials to use them in time. I need to use 1-2 gold speed up tokens just to keep up with collection (you can only hold 5 gold speed-up tokens).

Whilst the production time is good, i'll often run out of materials before the hour is up.

I'm actually focusing on silver buildings now, since 4x speed-up is more value for money. Gold is good with time constraints, but silver is more cost effective. I would also like to do a lot of bronze buildings too, they would really come in handy on the smaller builds like Building Supplies Store and Hardware Store.

Bottom line: Don't get caught up on trying to make gold buildings. Make a lot of bronze to begin with, then a lot of silver. Gold is really only beneficial on commercial buildings like Farmers Market (lengthy build times), and you might not even have enough materials to use the full 1 hour speed-up.

Honestly, that's quite an achievement...  14 Gold Epics?!  Congrats!!   :D

I'm still trying to collect a variety of Speed-up Epics, after all, there are 3 different types.  xD

My disappointment is that while trying to make a "Winter Village" I discovered that the bronze and silver Epic buildings look identical.  I have 2"Building of Alpinism".  One is a Silver & one is a Bronze.  I was hoping for more visual diversity, but...   Maybe in an update.

I forgot yesterday to give credit to troyparry74 for his insights on attacking these epic projects. Thank you for sharing...

I completed my second silver epic today and it was everything my first one wasn't. As easy as the first one was, the second was completely the opposite. It was s transportation epic again, and it asked for everything that I didn't have. At one point, three tasks were requiring 13 backpacks & 2 of these were 3 point items. I spent over 50k simoleans and maxed out my storage of 220. Still I was able to collect 83 tokens in about 6 and a half hours.

Thanks for the insights on gold. I think Ill stick with silver

Just buy what you need on the global market. You can't possibly have or make everything you need

    Problem solved!

Can anyone help with some details please? I am completing my fifth epic task. I've completed the Cheetah each time, after reading this post is there any reason to do more than 5 Cheetah or gold epic buildings? Is it just wanting a building with a different design? I know that the 12x tokens are a bit hard to use in some locations and was thinking of doing the silver and bronze. Until I read this post I figured that it was just your goal every time to complete the 160 mark. It wasn't until I wasn't able to collect the items to produce another token that I looked to the forum. They could have done a much better job at explains the process of Epic buildings. How many Llama and Turtle tokens can you have at a time?

I would say yes. Since each Cheetah token is worth 1/9 or whatever, if you had that many buildings you could collect one speed-up per day. I have 15 bronze, each yielding 1/3 per day so I collect 5 per day. Silver is 1/6 per day per building so I plan to do them in multiples of 6, 12 buildings yielding 2 per day. If not to earn the speed-ups why go through the effort of epic tasks?

    Just MHO

Oh and the max tokens you can have is 5 each. So 15 bronze, 30 silver and I guess 45 gold buildings? Right?

We saved over 350 rare items, and bought the rest of the items.

we completed the Epic Gold building in less than an hour.

    but seriously, it's crazy.
