Global Trade HQ - Misconception
Hi everyone,
I have been playing SimCity Buildit for sometime and I find the Global Trade HQ one of the worst market applications I ever saw on a game.
As a start, in opposition to what has already been mentioned here, the market rules do not apply on this case.
What I do see is that, usually, everyone sells on the highest price range for every product. And this is not a market. It is just like a place where everyone will sell at the highest possible price because it relies on a "random" product advertise. Therefore, when the players are already desperate to get a product, they will pay any price for it. And this is not a matter of laws of supply and demand, as mentioned on the original EA's clarifications.
It may work well when the people are at lower levels, because the products are limited to a certain 5 or 6 types.
On higher levels, I can count over 50 products to be on sell, but the Global Market HQ only show 20 products at the time (most of them repeated), which leads to the point that sometime we have to go to the market around 10 times to find just one product that we really need. And, after, it happens that on the whole process you reach to the point that the product has been already sold, and... let's start again... another 10+ times until we can find that product again.
I do believe, as most people do, that the possibility to have a filter, would highly increase the functionality of this feature. Because, right now, sometimes it's outrageous, and leads to desperation.
Having filters, would also allow the existence of a real market, based on supply and demand. If a product has high supply, the sellers will have to drop their prices to sell first. And the highly demanded products would see their prices increased... but at the end it would be fair and really "competitive".
As an example, right now, I believe that everyone sells steel at 10/unit (the maximum price).
With the filters, if the supply is very high, and I really need to do cash for something, I will be willing to drop the price. That's market. Not what is now implemented.
Ohh.. and by the way, please remove the "selling agreements" done by our "workers" on the city. The selling of products should be going always by the Global Market HQ... not be going to a "empty back hole" in exchange of money. At the end, that just works to take product out of the market, which is not even fair. And the "selling agreements" are quite annoying.
With that said, I really do believe, as most people does, that the game would be quite striving with such modifications.
Thank you and Regards
