I have this same issue too: Device is a Samsung S8, everything was fine until the Oreo update. I can reproduce this anytime.
REPRO:
- Start game
- Use for a short bit: May as well since you launched it :-)
- Exit
- Let the device screen timeout
- Mine is set to a minute, but the point is to let it rest for some unspecified length of time
- Unlock the device
- Launch the game
- OBSERVED: Corrupt graphics
Another way to repro is to not exit the game (Step 3) and pick up from step 4. Once the screen is unlocked and the game resumes you'll notice the corrupt graphics.
N.B.: In my experience such a major OS update is cause for a full device wipe which is what I did after several weeks of corrupt graphics from this game. Unfortunately that did not fix the issue.
Looks like this has been fixed after the latest firmware update from the carrier.
