Is it better for me to sell my items to NPCs than posting it on trade depot?

I also usually check the trade depot before selling to an NPC. There's no definitive answer to the question of which is better, because sometimes the NPC offers more than the max sale price at the depot, and sometimes they offer less. You'd need to do it on a case by case basis.
