Item deconstruction
Has EA thought about adding the ability to deconstruct an item in Sim City Buildit? A new manufacturing plant that will deconstruct an item based on what it is. I.E. a BBQ would break down to its r...
@torstar23 Once an item is posted on the global market, it cannot be recovered. It is sold at market, deleted by the seller for 1 simbuck, or purchased by Daniel after 36 hours. As for deconstruction: it's a building game. Manufacturers don't 'deconstruct' their stock if it doesn't sell. It's the mayor's responsibility to manufacture appropriate amounts of items for their city and to sell on the global HQ according to market forces. If the market is flooded with chairs do you make chairs to sell? No. You make something else. Simple economics, supply and demand
There will never be any kind of feature that you are describing. It's supposed to mimic real life. Sort of.
@cricket4103 Very well stated, it honestly troubles me that the franchise is often sacrificed for all the extra curricular activities added to make a profit. At its core it’s a city building game that requires planning, resource management, development and decision making skills. The game is about building a vibrant city with a self sustaining and robust economy. It’s responding to challenges and adversity in a positive and productive manner...not pushing a reset button to correct a decision but learning to work through it and grow from the experience. Sadly I wished it mimicked real life more and sort of a whole lot less. Take care and stay safe.
i am not trying to deconstruct something because it didn't sell. I would appreciate it if you didn't put words in my mouth.
i am looking to deconstruct an item in case i need the original items in order to fill an order. not all the time is something for sale and then you get to wait up to 6 hours for it to be made.
If it's the mayors responsibility to manufacture appropriate amounts of items for their city why is there a global HQ?
Wouldn't what you just said be invalid SINCE you are looking to purchase something on the global HQ and not manufacture it yourself?
Henceforth, it would be your responsibility to make your own money yet we have a global HQ to sell things to make money faster rather than getting it from orders, NPC sellers or upgrading neighbourhoods.
Enjoy your week!
@torstar23 Perhaps I’m missing something but I don’t believe anyone put any words in your mouth, @cricket4103 simply responded to your post appropriately and I in turn responded to her. Yes, we’ve heard this suggestion multiple times and nothing has happened nor should it...you made a decision to consume or sell your animal feed (6 hours) or electronics (7 hours) and now you have a task that requires that item and you can’t find it for sell in the market place so you have to wait 6 or 7 hours while you keep searching...it’s inconvenient yes, but you made the decision now you have to deal with the consequences of that decision.
Not real sure what you were trying to communicate but the purpose of the global market is to buy and sell produced goods...free enterprise at it’s finest. Your goal, as Cricket shared is to produce items that the market desires and sell at a price that represents value for both you and the customer...personally I would like to see Daniel step back and purchase only after 5 days at a discounted rate - would quickly force folks to manage their depot and clean up the market of all this useless dumping of hamburgers (5 for $18,600) as an example.
Perhaps an alternative to your deconstruction proposal would be to join a supportive mayor’s club that works together to assist each other’s goals and needs...you will certainly get there much quicker than waiting for EA to change the base game code which I suspect they are reluctant to do. Good luck and stay safe.
