Limit Time Under Shield

Question

The last 3 wars my club has participated in has resulted in the opposing club getting a lead halfway through the allotted time and then remaining under the protective shield. In the last case, all the cities in the opposing club were within 1 repair from regaining full health but they choose to remain under the shield for 16 hours!!! Until the war was over thus allowing them to win. I understand some may think this is legitimate strategy but I believe this goes completely against the spirit of game play Sim City intended. I would like to petition the developers to please consider changing the amount of time a city can remain under shield thus giving both clubs an opportunity to showcase their true club spirit and ability in war until the very end. Thank you for your consideration in the matter.

Agree completely! Something needs to change with shielding options. Hiding behind shields with 20 hours of game play and less than a 2000 point lead is a pretty weak option to claim victory. It’s a war. Shields should be temporary to regroup and recharge, but go back and fight. It’s very frustrating to have hours of preparation time, coordination within your team, and then hours of nothing. Makes the game boring.

Hi hitmcghie,I agree the strategy leaves much to be desired - they’re several really good conversations throughout the forum that if you get a chance you may want to read and share your feedback. We just had this discussion in our club and “turtling” is not in our DNA - I would much rather “tote a whuppin’” (as we Southern boys from the US eloquently state) than hide behind my mommy. My club has that same problems it is called cowardness Hiding behind the sheild it takes away from everything that the game stands for and I think that is a bunch of * EA please put a time limit on the shield or at least disqualify the club or clubs that Participate in that... No club should be allowed to hide under the shield the remainder of the wars games that is not fair to everybody else Or at least make a booster that we can use to destroy the shield...But something has to be done and soon
