Losing War - Still Earn Points?

If we lose a war do we still get any points at all?

We were matched up against a team who obviously had tons of stockpile and they hit us 26000 to 1000 roughly! I haven't launched an attack yet because I think why waste my attacks when we are obviously going to lose? But, if we get some rewards regardless for engaging then perhaps it's worth firing a shot off?

My city has been trashed three times and what I love is once you rebuild you get war items! Plus it's easy rebuilds usually (measuring tape, nails, steel etc) and gives good war items..it's easier to collect war items that way than spending coins on acquiring hard to find items at the depot!

If anyone has lost in war but still received points please advise, thanks!
