Need more options for Trade Depot

We need more controls for managing the stock in the Trade Depot. Currently my Trade Depot is at full capacity and items are no longer selling, which in turn is causing my City Storage inventory to max out, which as a consequence is forcing me to stop production. So now I can't make materials to upgrade my buildings or generate income. In short the lack of more options in the Trade Depot has brought this game to a screeching halt.

Today I deleted an item from my Depot to see if the other items would sell afterwards as has been posted in other threads. Nothing changed. So In the free slot I put up an item for sale at a cheap price and figured if it sold, then the others would soon sell also. The new item sold quickly, but the other items have still not sold. Which tells me the items in my depot may be overpriced. Unfortunately the only way to resolve this in the current state of the game is to delete and lose thousands of dollars of inventory, then re-make/purchase those items and sell them at a lower price and hope they sell at the new price. If they don't then I would need to do it all over again and lose countless amount of product and money in this ridiculous process. This nightmare could be remedied by implementing two changes:

*The ability to cancel a sale and return item to our City Storage. (according to the games FAQ/guide this option is not present because the City Storages space is "limited". If I have enough space in my City Storage available then it should be available as an option in the Trade Depot)

*The ability to go in and adjust the price and quantity of items currently being sold. Furthermore, you shouldn't have to pay sim cash either for the ability to make these changes. Since market demand fluctuates by nature, you shouldn't be penalized for market forces which you have no control over.

These are just two simple and basic options that should have been available since the beginning. Instead the lack of them is only serving to break and ruin what should have been fun and enjoyable game. For now I will just go in and change my rating for this game and discourage others from playing it until this is fixed.

I agree that more options would be helpful

    1. I'd like your option idea to edit price after I set it for sale, but only to lower it: most people are just using the default price not realizing they're competing with thousands of others at the same default price. Reason I'd like for a "lower only" restriction is I could see how players could "bait" traffic with a low cost item and then raise the price (even accidentally) during a transaction... could happen, right?

    2. I'd like a search option, even if it't just among the cities currently in my queue, there's often no mid-tier production items shown for sale such as hammers and shovels and sifting through a dozen cities where the mayor only thought to advertise their exhaust pipes is... exhausting!

I have NO problems selling items I advertise below default price since I realize there are hundreds of others already available sitting out there, I usually clear my warehouse in seconds but when I'm looking to buy mid-level production items I get tired of searching every city for more than just their lock for sale.

This fits in perfectly with my idea, love these suggestions and I agree with the cash thing, it's mad as prices fluctuate especially as different time zones are used to different prices, Uk like it cheap, Americans what whatever aha! My idea was also to add the ability to request items which works with ^.
  • I would like the capability to retract a posted trade instead of losing it...

Also the capability to haggle for a lower price, might be useful if the seller is keen to sell, but forgot to lower the price.

Also it would be nice if you could bundle items together as a packaged sale...

Two more suggestions regarding the trade depot:

    1) It should be possible to unadvertise an advertised item.

    2) If someone from my mayor's club buys an item from my depot, the name of the buyer should be visible.

Why? Because it happened a couple of times that someone anonomously bought an unadvertiesed item that was reserved for another person. If we knew who the mole was, we could remove him from the club 🙂
