I agree with everyone here. Everything to do with NeoSimoleons, Omega housing, Roads/MagLev and the NeoMall is totally unrealistic and in many instances simply impossible to achieve.
You have to wonder who has these crazy ideas, and whether they actually play the game! 😞

I disagree, it is not unrealistic, although it is maybe hard to achieve.
For example, I have 18 neo houses in various state of upgrade (none is upgraded completely), 3 neodomes, bank is at 13000 (upgraded twice), depot is at 35 pieces (upgraded 5 times) and have 9000 in the bank.
All this achieved without spending 1 simcash and with little planing.

18 neo houses and two bank upgrades... you've made it a long way without spending. Congrats!
When you upgraded your bank, did you also see that the cost of services like drones and controlnet towers increased significantly right after the upgrade? I just upgraded my bank to 10,000 capacity. After that, I suddenly can not purchase a third Small ControlNet tower. The Small tower is now listed for 10,800 neosims (screenshot attached) while a basic is 15,000 and a deluxe is 37,000. I can't find anyone else talking about the services price changes after upgrades --- wondering if I have a bug.I also looked to buy some drone stations now (i already have three small, and one basic size already purchased before the bank upgrade: total 21 capacity) --- however, drone stations are now 5400 for the small, and 15200 for the basic! I remember the basic station being only ~6700 neosims when i bought it before. It was definitely less than my 8000 storage limit when i bought it before, and now after bank upgrade i can't even store enough now to buy another.
Now that i have an updated Neobank, the Bank is suddenly too small to buy even the smallest ControlNet because I'm being shown new higher prices for everything in this OMEGA world.

Today I was able to take advantage of what maybe was a glitch and it worked to my advantage! Imagine that? I had 4 small drone bases and was checking on buying another. The price shown was 9600 NeoSimoleans for an increase of 4. I then checked the cost for a Basic Drone Base and to my surprise, it was only 6700 for an increase capacity of 9. I then checked on the refund if I demolished one of the small drone bases and it was 2700. So for a total outlay of 4000, I increased my drone capacity by 5. Now I checked the costs afterwards and the small base costs 5400 and the basic is 16,200
I also purchased a second Small ControlNet Tower for 5400 and now the cost for the next one is 10,800. I have upgraded my bank to 10,000 however I realize now thats not enough to get another ControlNet so I guess my Omega adventure could end. I also have upgraded my storage to 25 and found that still is not enough capacity to upgrade multiple zones. That part of the upgrade doesnt seem very well thought out. And when every function of Omegaland, building upgrade, storage increase, bank increase, all use the same items, it makes for very expensive canisters
As costly as this whole Omega thing is, it amazes me that a fully upgraded Omega property only pays 200 NeoSimoleans a day! At that rate it would take 2 weeks to purchase a Dozier Wheel from the NeoMall. And i just discovered that only 4 Omega upgrades will have a hard hat at one time and that's probably a good thing because of the limited storage. I have 11 Omega buildings upgraded to the max and have 5 in various stages of upgrades, and that seems to be too many to do at once...
Hey its only simoleans...
- Anonymous10 years agoI play Omega only because the mayor challenges require it.
I see no way to make 1,430 neo simoleons in 24 hrs (I only have three neo residences so far).
The upgrades are ridiculous (I need five items of which I have four and I can't make more as my storage is full and I can't increase it because I'm missing a hover board which is also needed to upgrade my residence and the neo mall is mostly useless - why sell regular things which are sometimes commonly available in the global trade depot ... I could go on and on ...)
Bottom line: Neo/Omegs is not player friendly. If thus is how the game rolled out at the start, nobody would have played it for long. - Anonymous10 years ago
Interesting, so if you saw the price of your third ControlNet increase to 10,800 before your bank upgrade, this would indicate that each incremental service unit increases in price, perhaps arbitrarily. i'm less convinced now it was a glitch, and more just EA implementing arbitrary pricing tiers to slow down expansion.... your experience with drone bases is mirroring mine when i bought my first basic drone base earlier.
I guess I'll just stop after my upgrading my existing 21 OMEGA residences. after that, it's going to be too much hassle to get more drones, controlnets etc when the marginal price for services expansion isnt predictable or rational. i guess OMEGA cities and their economics are strange after all...
So here's where we stand on this silly economics of marginal OMEGA services:
I have 3 small drone bases, the fourth costs 5400, the fifth will cost 9600 (thanks @bettysadog...)
First Basic drone base costs 6700, the second costs 16200....
Second small Controlnet tower costs 5400, the third costs 10800
One expansion idea: since basic OMEGA's start by giving you 100/day, prioritize the creation of new units and do small item cost upgrades before seriously trying to "max out" each structure. this will get you neosims faster in the long run (to the extent your power, water, etc services allow). I have 21 units, giving average ~155/day. Only two are maxed at 200/day, which takes a lot longer to do. My income is 3000/day, which is still slow expansion, but hey I also have better things to do this 4th of july weekend anyway.

Part of the problem is, unlike the other specializations, Omega uses the same items for upgrades and bank and storage increases. So depending which direction you currently are focusing on, will certainly impact the other areas. Especially with limited storage, it would seem difficult to try to increase bank capacity at the same time as upgrading your buildings. Personally, increasing my storage detracts from what I'd rather do, upgrade buildings. But now it is apparent, thanks to the previous posters here, that one must really focus on increasing storage and bank capacities adequately before going after more properties after a certain number. What I mean by that is that I have managed to fully upgrade 11 Omega buildings, have 25 item storage capacity, 10,000 bank storage, drone capacity for 21 buildings and 2 small controlnet towers. However, most of anything else I want to do now will require more than 10,000 neosimoleans, so by upgrading the bank capacity reduces my inventory of items which reduces my ability to upgrade properties and on and on...
I have come to grips with the 7000 simoleans for each canister and have received my share of metal and wood as a result. I have quit COM after participating in every one and stopped doing Epic Challenges after 77 to completely focus on Omega. I constantly am producing items and selling them to generate simoleans to pump into Omega. Why? Because its new and different and the COM's rewards are not near what the effort required is...so we evolve

Yes, the price increase happened to me, too.
As of today, i managed to achieve following:
Bank is at 16000
Storage at 40
I have still 18 houses (none upgraded to the max because it's to expensive in items to achieve that, 2 are at lvl 5, and 7 at lvl 4 and rest are lower levels) but I have ready for first initial upgrade 2 houses, so then I'll have 20 houses with daily 2900 neosims profit.
4000 in the bank.
Drones are at 21 and control lets me build 6 more houses. So, for maxing that I'll need one more small drone building at 5400.
I have to confess that in the last 5 days I bought 6 or 7 items in neostore and I spend there roughly 10000 neosims.
Ma strategy so far is that i have always at least 2 houses ready for upgrade. I don't collect stuff for upgrading band AND storage at the same time, but after upgrading one I collect for upgrading the other.
If after upgrading storage or bank I need for further upgrade items with which i can upgrade houses, I request change of required items from architect. Generally, architect is merciful and after 2-3 changes i achieve a situation that for house upgrade I don't need stuff needed for upgrading bank or storage.
My plan is that I will first get the bank to 25000+ and storage to 50 and then think about further expanding number of houses.

I agree...well said. I hope the designers of the omega part are listening to what everyone is saying....we also want to make the game better. Please let us know if you are working to fix some of these poorly thought out items. Funny that you rarely can find anything in the neo mall that you need. Let us SELL and buy in that mall! Not so many regular items for sale there...more items related to what you need simple and actually for. Please fix this for us! I love this game, but changes can be good! I feel your pain about droid station....probably has happened to most of us!
- Anonymous9 years agoI have spent more time planning this game then I care to admit over 2 years. I've seen a lot of the evolution of the game. EA needs to keep us playing, as they obvious have gotten me.
"Dear Abby, my BF plays more SimCity Build It then he does with me...@ 😳😳😉😜
Now the more they get you to play their game the more addicted they get you to do things to need to play the game. Let's face it, this game is fun or we would not be on here helping each other help learn tricks to play better.
That being said, EA games has been around for years. They pioneered Aracde Games when you put what was back then ¢25 to play. People put quarters in like they do Doritos watching Starwars movies or whatever you do like to watch.
The Omega Expansion was finally a way to slow down the process of upgrading to quickly and keep those who without saying the infamous C-word, "enhance" their game. Finally, it made things a bit trickier or more expensive.
I have 31 Omega buildings. Not all are level 8, in fact only 1. It is very difficult to accomplish multiple goals when playing the Omega side of SC.
Focus on expanding your storage, then move to your bank. Focus on your bank, then to your storage. If you do
This carefully, all while (even if needed) sell out your items to empty free space for the upgrades you need. Choose wisely for it is possible to achieve my friends.
I may not have the largest city but I have been playing it for a very long time. I had to endure far worse than those just coming aboard, wasting my time earning items and keys all for further expansion packs to could have been used wisely for wasted keys of older items.
