New update is the game killer. Congratulations EA.

It took only 2 days for the game system to collapse after recent update.
Did you really think people would pay for the privilege to make assignments in the contest of mayors?
Wrong. Players left the contest of mayors and all system fell apart like paper house.
Contest of mayors encourages people to production and selling extra items on Global Trade.
Look at the Global today. It's empty. Nobody sells anything.
Without possibility to buy items on Global, guess what?
Wars are impossible.
Boom, the game is down.

Did you really think you accustomed people to zillion currencies and they would swallow another one?
Wrong. Nobody will pay for making assignments.
Did you really think old players forgot you already halved rewards in mayor pass, now eliminating them?

Where are golden keys?
Where are decent buildings?
Where are disaster cards?
Did you think we forgot you halved prizes in club chests?
Did you think new players would spend 18 hours a day to complete ridiculous amount of deliveries you added as milestones?

Did you think it would be a game improvement? Did you think it would bring you yet more profit?
Or are you harvesting and deliberately killing the game?

The Seasonal stuff is too complicated and has become ridiculously difficult to play. Far too hard work, I will keep expanding my regions and one day stop playing, hopefully without spending any more money.

I agree this update is a big failure. EA should learn that the challenges need to be actually doable, once I'm out of the mindset of playing every week then I won't get back in.

They need to gift everyone Riverwalk, apologise and make it playable from tomorrow or it will be the beginning of the end for the game.

  • Just made a calculation:

In Megapolis 75 assignments x30 average take 2250 tickets.
In mayors pass there is to win 750 tickets plus 800 tickets in premium pass. So if you don't pay you get 188 tickets, if you pay you get 388 tickets per week. Quite a difference, isn't it?
Everybody got 2500 tickets at a start of new update. But look up, this stash will DRY OUT NEXT WEEK, WHENEVER YOU PAY, OR NOT.
Then 3... 2....1  Golden Tickets Offer pops up.

EA, do you really think we can't count?

Hard to enjoy a game that forces me to grind away producing complicated inventory items, only to then force me to use those items on airport deliveries and cargo shipments for things I have no need for; all in the ultimately delusion pursuit of weekly prizes that can’t be reached without the added use of paid boosts.

Case in point, I’m a paid participant in the season pass, and I’ve completed all tasks to reach not only the imposed weekly progress season cap, but also all “bonus assignments” available, all daily assignments, all Chicago missions, and all but three of the weekly assignments.  One of the uncompleted weekly assignments is to earn epic points, which would be fine, except the game no longer offers me epic buildings to upgrade, having apparently reached an undisclosed cap in that category.  Even if I was able to complete everything, the maximum available weekly points would still leave me more than a thousand points shy of the weekly final building, and roughly 5,000 points shy of the snowflake total needed to purchase the top weekly item.

With the latest update, EA has transformed this from a fun game to a carnival game where no matter how one plays they can never win, and are certain to walk away feeling ripped off.

Premium Plus pass has another 1000 Golden tickets so they are pushing hard for high scoring COM players to pay to get enough tickets to win.

if you wanted to compete for the win every week you would need 9000 tickets every 4 weeks! Not happening even with premium plus so unless those pay to play golden tickets offers start appearing people are going to have to start rationing them.

I think the saddest thing about this whole thing is that there is no attempt from EA or the developers to acknowledge the frustration and overwhelmingly negative feedback the changes have garnered from the playerbase. There's no "we're sorry we really missed the mark, we will make adjustments next season". Not a peep to acknowledge how players feel.

  • I've struggled with this update since it came out. Before hand I used to be able to play a little every day, stay in a league and bumble along. Now it is near impossible to stay in the league and I get demoted. There are loads of new currencies, and it costs to complete tasks. The whole fun element has gone from the game and today I have decided to stop playing as it has lost its fun.

Other updates that have changed the game play took a while to get used to them, but the point is you could get used to them. This one I've given a couple of months and I can't see the point.
