Hi guys and gals.
I am looking at this forum and another forum and i can clearly tell there is an issue with the OMEGA update.
I'll start by saying i do like. I'm a fan of new buildings, i t...
Imho greedy ea have ruined the game with the omega stuff. I have about 1.4m sims in my city, i decided to get involved with omega buildings and these are the reasons i will probably throw in the towel and delete the game from my phone.
1) the omega update is a completely separate game within a game which kind of renders the original game useless and untouched
2) the omega items are ridiculously expensive
3) the mall where you can buy these items is full of expensive rubbish that you dont want and maybe one or two overpriced omega items that 9 times out of 10 you dont need
4) you end up filling your omega storage with like 10 of 1 particular item and hardly ever have the right combination of items to upgrade buildings before you fill your storage, but then you're stuck because YOU CAN'T SELL THESE ITEMS and you can't upgrade the storage because of course you never have the right combination of items for that either.
5) i got offered ONCE to buy an omega item by the game and i was offered about 100 neosimoleans for an item that would have cost me 2000-4000 in the mall. I mean seriously wtaf?
6) when you make new omega items in the labs you only get a very small percentage of omega items plus a load of items u don't want, which you then can't sell because the global trade thing is like a ghost town now and you have to wait for the bot to buy them.
I spend WAY less time playing this game now simply because i go in the game, i see i don't have the omega items i need, the stupid mall doesn't have the items i need, so i just request new plans for all the omega buildings and quit the game again, rinse and repeat.
This is a cynical greedy attempt by ea to get people to spend real money which im not falling for....like all the other cynical greedy attempts in the past - like suddenly moving the goalposts with road upgrades for example, and on top of that the constant spam in the game to watch videos (so so lame), etc.
If you want to know how to do this properly ea, look at how supercell do it, as for me im deleting this game which i have been happily playing for over a year because it's obviously just going to get worse as has been the trend the whole time I've been playing.

In my experience I get offers to sell Omega stuff when my storage is almost full. Haven't played enough with Omega to say exactly when but I think it is when there is five or less slots left. I decline the offers and almost immediately get a new one. Repeat until satisfied. Currently I have an offer of 4 pieces for like 900.

make new buildings and upgrade them
I've already done that, and now I have no more real estate available until I unlock the rest of the area of my map....which will take years thanks to exponentially rising amounts of dozer components I need to collect.
I could demolish parts of my city, but no thanks - what's the point, I'm done with the game.
I have since had another offer to buy an omega item - in my omega storage I have 10 x 1 particular item, 9 x another item, then 1 x various other items, totalling 25 items. I have never had an offer to buy one of the items that I have 10 or 9 of, otherwise I would have taken the ridiculous 100 neosim offer just to get rid of one of them, I've only had offers to buy the valuable single items I have.
In the mall i only ever get items that I don't want/need, not that it matters as my storage is full.
I can't upgrade my storage because I don't have the right combination of items.
I can't upgrade my bank for the same reason.
I continually ask for new plans on my omega buildings but never get a combination that I have.
Check mate.
Game deleted. Well done EA you greedy ****s
i can safely say this has not been the case with me, although i still haven't passed the bank having more than 10k and 25 storage spaces but i do continually get layouts i need in the end and have enough items for upgrading bank and storage, however, i need to be really patient for the extra bits i don't have.
When it comes to Omega, I've managed to get to 55 storage and 25000 Capacity in NeoBank.
It is very true that the start to offer to "buy" (at greatly reduced rates..) your Omega items when you are close to capacity in storage. I did at first pay "100" to complete the upgrade because they REFUSE to give you the item you NEED, but now I have discovered if you keep saying "NO" to the sale and get even closer to your storage max, they seem to cough up the needed item. I also will have them change building plans on the Omega buildings to NOT INCLUDE any items needed for upgrading Storage or Bank.
Seems to be working. I'm still not certain I really like this part of the game, but it has been contributing to my point during Contest of the Mayors.
GT.
I'm been patient with the Omega related items. But I have to say it's very trying and tiring.
I only do anything Omega related when a Mayor's challenge requires it.
Which brings me to a very sore point: One of the challenges is getting a certain number of Neosimoleonss. In every case except one, the amount required was always more than the Neo residences produce in a 24 hour period. I'm usually 12 hours short. And hoping for an offer to buy some of the stuff is exceedingly rare. Unlike everything else, no amount of cheetah tokens will help, no amount of SimCash will help, no amount of Neosimoleons will help. You are stuck either never starting the challenge, starting and aborting, or seeing it through at a tremendous cost to time.
Deliveries can be sped up with Simcash. Missing Dr Vu items can be handled by Simcash. Creating 18 fire pits can be handled by lots of cheetah tokens.
Even making 51 electrical components when the factory capacity is only 50 can be handled by using Simcash to make the 51st item (avoiding an extra seven hours of wait time).
But collecting Neosimoleons which could require 36 hours with no way to speed it up? That's just ridiculous. If you're going to take people's hard earned money, then provide a way for us to give it to you! Or change it.
@Restville an option i would recommend is not to collect from your neo buildings for a while and then hopefully it gives you the required amount. Although i don't know myself how much you can hold before it caps.
Hope this helps.

I'm only interested in the CoM, nothing else in the game matters. For every action I do I always consider how it will affect my chances in this or the next CoM I will do (I only do it seriously every other week because I need to collect enough VU items).
What I do is to make sure I can do the 1840 (highest points I've seen) neosimolean missions is to already have a "sell neo stuff" that will cover what is missing from a day production.
Also I would like to add that it is easy to use sim cash to speed it up. Making the cannisters in the labs have an option to use sim cash and you also have the option in the research center. So you can essentially produce as much Omega items as you can afford( in real life money) since you will get new sell options after a short wait. The only thing that might stop you is if you are doing an epic project at the same time since you won't see the "sell Omega items" bubble when doing an epic project. But then agaian you can use sim cash to quickly finish the project (to gold) and you will see the "sell neo stuff" again
Ok, I don't have any tips but I have approximately 150 Omegas and all are fully upgraded. So, there's nothing to upgrade, nothing to buy, my bank and storage are huge and guess what? There's nothing to play- mo more to see folks- Play has just stopped. I refuse to go all in to buy all Omega gear because my costs increase on power plants etc so we're at an impasse. I will say I refuse the omega sale requests until I get the money I want and at a certain point, my bank was full full and now what? If EA wants folks to continue playing, they've got to give an inch somewhere
