Population amount exploit/bug

In the attached 3 screenshots you can see how SimCity has the issue with measuring the total population amount and how you can boost your pop amount to possibly pass an achievment checkpoint.

Its not a huge bug nor does it break the game, but it is an exploit and players can use it to boost their highest pop amount ever to unlock achievments earlier than they should.

  • @Dino25502^^ You can see that my actual pop amount is 224k, but, while using any structure that boosts pop amount, the game shows you how much pops you would have if you placed that structure, however, that newly calculated pop amount actually remains even if you dont place the structure and it stays shown in your achievments. In my case, my highest pop amount is 274k which is wrong since I never actually had that many pops, its just the game counting that calculation even without placing any structure.

  • It just shows you temporarily, what a population boost possibility is, if you don’t place it it goes back to the original, also it’s capped for everything population wise ie: if you put 5 landmarks right next to one another you’ll notice the population boost drops down to nothing. Hope this helps

Yes, the pop is temporary, but the achievment stays at the projected population, so you can exploit it to finish the achievment faster than you normally would.
