How did you manage to do 'all 20' when you're only allowed 10 before everything grays out and you can't do any more?
How many points did you finish up with?

I'm in the suburban league (2nd round) 20 assignments, Completely cleared my inventory twice (2 times) to make 195 metal, 24 cheesecakes, 5 shipments to Parisian and about 15 more almost impossible ASSignments. I finished 18th got 1 key and 10000 simolians, yeah I'm pissed. Not even worth doing anymore. Within the first hours of starting #1 had over 10000 points? RIGGED game always has been, EA doesn't make enough money. Lol
@Toby-G-211 Why does it bother you that much? I, very much like you, don't pay for the game. I won't pay for any app through the android play store. So much to that effect that I have never even set it up to be able to take any kind of payment. If I'm going to pay for a game, it's going to be a PC game or maybe even a console game if I choose to someday buy another console. These android games are just time wasters for me. Just something to do and I do not invest myself emotionally into the game at all.
Does it matter who gets that #1 spot or even a top 20 spot? Did you get something for your efforts? 1 key and 10000 coin is 1 key and 10000 more coin than you had before they added the Contest of mayors. It's only the 2nd week and it has you that flustered that you want to quit?
Remember, the game is not about the contest at all. If you don't like the contest, ignore it. It's about building your city with what you're able to do. Don't want to spend on it? Don't. It does not matter. It's just a android/ios game. You can still enjoy all the other aspects of the game without getting upset about how they're handing out assignments.
I do have to say that I think your analysis of how assignments are given is a little presumptive. You do not know beyond all reasonable doubt that they're giving higher payout assignments to those who pay for the game or if it's just the luck of the draw. Just as someone else had a group where the top spot hit 6500, but in mine it was 16,900. This is only the 2nd week of it. Is there complaining to be done.... sure.... It's not really a contest if the assignments given are not equal in value. That would be gambling because it's the luck of the draw. The only choice is in which one(s) to do. You do your best and you end up where you end up.
Can that be improved upon, absolutely. I do think it would be better if everyone got the same valued assignments.
Also, think about this..... this was brought up by someone else. It's part of the same thread I read about someone getting a 3000 value assignment.....
You chose all the top valued assignments. For argument sake, I'll put a few values to that.
Someone's top 3 assignments offer values of 1900, 1500 and 1000, which completing all 3 would give them 4400 for those 3 assignments.
Now someone else decides their not going to play all top assignments, but picks and chooses based on other reasons, so they have an assignment for 1500 and an assignment for 500. Upon completing that assignment for 500 the new assignment they get is that 3000 value assignment, so they see that 3000 and play that one too...
Now looking at the numbers, the way the 2nd guy played he totals after 3 assignments 5000. That's 600 higher than the guy who chose all top assignments even though he played a 500 value assignment.
The bottom line is that we do not know what algorithm they're using to give out assignments nor how they're creating the playing field (which opponents you have). We do not have access to the code to see how it's done. To give any opinions to that matter is mere speculation. I would think, from a programmer's perspective, they would not do it merely based on if someone paid for it or not, but if it were me doing the programming on it and didn't want, for whatever reason, for it to be a completely equal playing field with everyone getting the same valued assignments, I would do it more like my example where those who randomly choose different values would have the advantage over those who just chose the top valued assignments every time.
Remember, the game is what you make of it, so you can either get mad for reasons you do not understand because you do not have the code to see how it's done or you can be glad that there is another added feature that may allow you to gain more keys than you otherwise would have. I'll take the latter path thank you.
This is the 2nd time you've assumed that I work for EA. No I don't, but as you said in your other message, you wouldn't believe it even if I told you who I work for. Game programming isn't my thing. My programming experiences revolves more around PHP, MYSQL as well as VB. I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to even code a gaming interface. I'm just a guy that has been playing Simcity games since the late 80's starting with the original Maxis Simcity that only had a sky view and no 3D capabilities.
If a free game has you that all hot and bothered, maybe it is time you quit. That goes for anything really. If it's not fun anymore, don't do it.
Although, because you bring it up, I will check it out further and watch my own game a little more closely. I can say that in my game, the Llama a cheetah are available for collection when I first wake up, but the turtles aren't available until closer to 9pm. It's been that way for a while. The turtles and the llamas used to be sync'd at the same time and somehow they split to two different times of day. I still haven't been able to figure that one out, but it was around the same time I got my first cheetah building.
Although, my own personal opinion, for a game you've paid nothing for, even if everything is exactly how you say it is, it's a free game, you didn't pay for a single thing in it, so why complain to this level about something you have no financial investment in whatsoever. Or maybe it's just that I don't care enough to get all up in arms about a game I'm not paying for.
I did all 20 and got screwed too winners are cheats they had scores higher than possible if you do all top 20 xo
That wouldn't work either. I'm retired, I can play all day, most others work or go to school and only have a limited amount of play time.
Wow, this thread is so filled with emotions -- this contest is a hit for sure! 😉 Well, I personally do not think that something is rigged: just look at your posts--without paying anything we are, the free riders, are constantly get to the top of the list. Often we cannot stay there, unfortunately, and for that I have a small proposition for EA: some little gifts of aknowlegment would be appreciated. I don't know, may be one smallest speed token for every time a player got to the first place in his group? Because it is a little sad to finish on the very top two days before the end of the contest, and just watch yourself slipping down from your throne to the bottom over next hours without ability to change anything.
Hi guys,
I got promoted from neighborhood league to suburban, then I was not able to play due to work and other engagements, now I was placed back to neighborhood league. Is this fair? Why can't the game remember where you were last and when you do have time to play again continue from there? At this rate people who don't always have the time will never have the chance at all to get to the higher leagues. I have noticed the same about the epic projects. I don't always have the time nor the willpower to play entire days. This again very unfair for people who work, have family obligations and just not willing to waste an entire day playing games. Why there is no option to continue from where you left off? There could be hefty requirement to do this, but at least you are not starting each time from the start line again. It would make it fair to those people who would like to play and reach certain goals, but not at the price of spending all their free time on it?

This is one of those..... You can't please everyone kind of questions. I don't want to be stuck in a higher league and never be able to move down to a lower one. Especially when I can bounce back and forth between Town league and City League and earn more gold keys than if I moved up leagues. It really depends more on what motivates you to play the contest.
In the end, it's a more fair system to have those move up and those who don't play this week to move down keeping the higher leagues with active players. Otherwise, as people move on from the game you'll have half of every league not even playing the contests because those users aren't playing the game anymore. I just wish they would make it more clear on the Leaderboard who was moving down. That way I could, at a glance, tell if I was in a position to move down.
Toby-C-211 I'm sorry just don't see myself that addicted to building a city.🙂 Or just not seeing the same thing about it as you do? Playing war where the game is more balanced where every player has the same chance to fight is another story. 🙂
