Hey Everyone, I think I got it. (Atleast for Android users, I don't own a iPhone) Go to your settings, go to applications and open up the Google play app, hit uninstall updates, next time you open the Google play store it will launch a much more generic version of the app. Search for Sim City Buildit in the store and you should be able to do an update...
Seems to be working for me now.

Tried this it starts updating but it seems to crash before it finishes the update each time. Samsung S5

Won't working for me. I have a HTC M8s, played the game for a few months flawlessly. Everytime I start the app, it ask for an update. If I go to the Playstore I can't install the update because my device is not compatible. I send a message to the EA support desk, but they can not give me a solution. My device is up to date and runs on Android version 5.0.2.
The solution to remove the updates from Play Store works not for me.
