Re: Is farming accounts illegal?

Hello folks

Sorry for my English hope you understand me

I'm a new user
Is it legal to open 2 accounts?
I mean one account will be primary and the other will be secondary
This is to help find items for expanding city area and expanding city storage for free and more

Or like producing items and selling to the main account for free

is it legal ?

Hope to get an answer

  • @Ringolinmo Hello! Welcome to the forum! About having multiple cities, here's the asnswer from EA;

You can have or build more than one city but trading huge number of items or items farming is not allowed. This is clear violation.

It's legal to have multiple cities, but it's not allowed to use them as feeders.

    Hope this helps. happy building!

I've been doing this for two days
If I delete the account and do not do it again, is that okay?

    Will you forgive me?

  • @Ringolinmo You dont need my forgiveness. I'm not working for EA, I'm just a player like you. But I'm happy to see more fair and honest players but not cheaters. So thank you if you are deleting your feeder account.

  • I have a friend who farms accounts with AI, he uses about 100 accounts to create ten stellar clubs that are more active than I can imagine. Each club about five of the members are his, the rest of the people are other people, war veterans, not played by him.

In my opinion, that ain't hacking, that's just being clever, cuz none of the accounts hacked at all, all the cash were earned fair and square, just by AI!

He does this by coding with Python, and creating plug-ins. He wanted to do this because before, he also played just like us, but it was just too much effort keeping his clubs alive and gettin' plumbobs when being an IB high school student. I mean, how would you feel if you had an exam tomorrow, but you have to help your club win a do-or-die war? Well, sure, he could quit the game altogether, but that would mean erasing all the hard work.

Each account is played by AI 21-23 hours a day for city advancements, CoM and War rank level-ups, etc. Got to city lvl 18 within one day, Got to War Rank 5 in one war, usually makes 50 war deliveries a war. Now about War Rank 50. Can't be beaten.

His best club is in Top 1000 or so, Arena 6. Last week the club was in a war, won about 3 800 000 to 2 700 000. Both clubs were NOT hacked, everything earned fair and square. My friend had a math mid-term exam the day the war was gonna end. He got a 99 on the exam, curse that silly error. He didn't spend one minute that day playing the game or tryna win that war, his AI accounts got it all taken care of.

I later visited the other club - the club my friend won against the day he was taking his exam. Funny thing is, the members there said that they all played the game for at least one year, mostly two, and they play for five hours a day, cuz wars in Arena 6 are very tough. Very stressful coordination when pulling jackpots and umbrellas.

Like I said, I don't think that's illegal. But I found that even very trivial things like having a second account CAN BE called as "cheating"! Will he be arrested and sent to prison? Will SimCity contact the FBI and giant helicopters and armed police vans surround him once they find his location? Will Secret Service send out assassins like Kellerman and Hale to terminate him?

  • @BeatCop_731  Sorry I had not read this post when I responded to your other post or my answer would be very different. It absolutely is cheating and your friend should be immediately removed from the game...just one more example of how inept or complacent the company is in dealing with cheaters. There is absolutely no difference between this and “hacking”...he is using an interpreted, high-level and general-purpose programming language to manipulate the game. Cheating is cheating...be it satellite or feeder cities, clandestine “dead” clubs used for illegal trading or hacking, it’s all the same. This is why thousands of players have left this game. There is absolutely nothing clever about this...it is an unacceptable act that shows great disrespect for the game and honest folks that play within the guidelines of the game...

Do you have free time to play? You can play. You don’t have time to play? You just don’t play, it’s simple. Using AI programs is definitely cheating, not better than hacking. All of us honest players who spend real money on the game, shouldn’t have to face accounts who play by themselves. (Now I understand why in some wars you get duds immediately after you place your jackpot...)

These accounts should all be banned. Reading such things makes you wanna quit. EA should take action against these illegal activities.

I suppose so. But how would EA know they are all his accounts? And if EA knew, will they contact Secret Service and FBI?

  • Obviously it's unfair and people get mad and stuff, but Is it ILLEGAL tho that's the question

@BeatCop_731 Of course it is illegal. Saying about FBI and stuff like that sounds ironic. If players have questions regarding modifying the game or hacking in any way should just read the terms of use from EA. And of course EA should find a way to block these accounts right from their creation.
