Re: Omega zones stealing passengers - Metropolitan Railway Station

@alifie1 What happens after you launch a train?
I'm looking at your pics wondering if your station is full of passengers, if so there will be no flow until you launch one or more trains, depending on which trains you have.

The pictures were taken after trains were despatched. When the station is full it shows 0/h. Based on the number of the buildings the flow into the station should be more than 1,000/h, but it  collects only 255 passenges every 30 minutes = 510/h.

When I first started with trains, it was during the beta. I had to run rails straight through a large clump of Omegas in my Sunny Isles but to save on too much jiggery-pokery  I only had a small station amongst them. So to be honest my passenger flows were not so important. I was more concerned with my mission to link all the islands with rails.

    Why?

Hmm, someone somewhere in one of the fan pages said it couldn't be done. Along with a plethora of Moaning Minnie's moaning about everything railway related 🤣

Yep I'm the guy who did it just to prove a point and annoy the naysayers as well 🤣

Eventually stations were moved and replaced and my lines link all the islands still but only needs 3 stations to cope with the demands when I need coins.

    Anyhow back to your issue.

I dunno if you noticed or not but there is only one connection on the Metropolitan Station, it's what I would call a Terminal, so if you lose that loop of track next to it, you may be able to squeeze in more houses around it 😀

Unless of course you need the loop to make the station work? I dunno your setup or plans 😆  My Metropolitan is at the end of the line on the 4th island.

As for passenger flow, it varies, if you are in a hurry for coins and chewing up passengers, it will ebb and flow, it's never been something that would cause me  much of an upset these days.

    Keep On Rolliin'!

I am not too bothered with it, now. I was upset yesterday when I felt stupid because I was not able to organize  my residential buildings and Specializations to get the flow of passengers I expected.

Just to prove to myself that I am not crazy  I have removed the Metropolitan Railway station and placed at the same spot the Medium Railway station.

Metropolitan Railway Station collected only 510/h, the smaller Medium Railway Station collects 1432/h.

@alifie1 These things are sent to try us I guess 😆
At the end of the day, my view on trains has always been to get them running and worry about the specifics later.

I wonder whether the strange behaviour of the Metropolitan Station is a bug. I can imagine the developers are laughing hysterically whenever they introduce another unexpected/illogical feature that surprises and upsets the players. 😆

I think no one ever promissed that Metropolitan Railway Station would collect passengers faster than the smaller stations.

I have put the Metropolitan Station into the storage and invested some of my platinum keys and SimCash into Central Station. That one works nicely and collects passengers in sufficient quantities - 2,000/h.  Now I am able to send all my trains from one station within few seconds  - that was my intention from the beginning. Yes, I am lazy - I do not want to click more times than absolutely necessary to despatch all my trains.😆
