The SimCash parks seem to serve a more aesthetic than functional purpose. It gives the city a bit of additional uniqueness not to be found in too many cities outside of Daniel's. But I do think the Plumbob park looks rather nice.
I wish I could blame vodka tonics on some of my accidental SimCash expenditures. The game seems rather designed to make it easy to hit the spend SimCash command buttons (without confirmations) that pop up here and there.
