Regions operate as satellite cities, each with a unique map and theme. The style of each Region is reflected through distinct Residential Zones, Factories, Crafting Shops, and Crafting Materials.
Three new Regions await:
Green valley: The grass IS greener on this side. Build a modern, eco-friendly city in this lush river valley.
Cactus Canyon: This desert is far from deserted. Build a warm, bustling city. There is no better setting for a road trip than this gorgeous canyon.
Limestone Cliffs: These lush green fields and hills are buzzing with the sounds of summer forests and meadows. Build a city with irresistible combinations of natural beauty, delicious street food, and kinship.
What is Regional Population and how is it counted?
Regional Population is the number of people living in your unlocked Regions. You can check your Regional Population by tapping the population icon located next to your city level.
You’ll see the population of each unlocked Region, and the total population across all Regions.
Each Region has a Residential Zone type. (These are areas designated for home-building.) To build Regional Residential Zones, access the Residential Buildings menu from any of your Regions or from your Capital City.
Residential Zones from unlocked Regions may be placed within any Region you’ve unlocked, including your Capital City.
Things to know:
Regional Residential Zones need Regional Raw Materials and Regional Crafting Items to be upgraded.
Regional Residential Zones need Regional Area Services to operate effectively.
Each Region has its own Regional Area Services. Regional Residential Zones need Regional Area Services.
Green Valley
Regional Area Service: Organic Food Build Organic Food Stalls, Organic Food Markets, and Deluxe Organic Food Markets to help your eco-conscious Sims find locally produced, nature-friendly food!
Cactus Canyon
Regional Area Service: Gas Station Build Small Gas Refill Stations, Basic Gas Stations, and Deluxe Gas Stations to provide your Sims with everything they need for the road!
Limestone Cliffs
Regional Area Service: Street Food Build Small Street Food Stalls, Street Food Restaurants, and Street Food Markets to delight your Sims with various delicious street foods!
To build Regional Area Service buildings, access the Services menu by tapping theService and Specialization Buildingsicon on the lower right-hand corner of your city.
Yes! Regions can be expanded using the same expansion items you use in your Capital City.

Can I place buildings from my Capital City into my Regions?
You can!
Place Residential Zones, Capacity Services (like Power, Water, Sewage, Waste Management), Area Services (like Fire, Police, Health), and most Specialization buildings from your Capital City in your Regions.
Things to know:
Demand for Capacity Services follows local regional rules in Regions.
Two additional Maxis Manors can be built per unlocked Region.
Mountain Specialization Buildings are not available in Green Valley, Cactus Canyon, and Limestone Cliffs.
Beach Specialization Buildings are not available in Cactus Canyon and Limestone Cliffs.
Government Buildings can only be placed in Capital City.
Epic Projects and Epic Buildings can only be placed in Capital City.
