Recover lake areas- anyone know where they are?

I built over the lakes from a year ago on the older version and was curious if anyone could tell me where the lakes are? I have the large lake as the center of my city but there was another off to the right on the original layout that was surrounded by trees and halfway in the expansion area. Does anyone still have that and could guide me where that is in relation to the large lake? I have tried to remove all buildings and streets in that general area but haven't been able to recover it yet. It is supposed to come back right? Thanks!

    I've done this, but I remembered where my lake used to be. I removed buildings from that place, went to some other's city, came back and it appeared. I think you can restart the game and the lake must come back. But in each city it is in different places, so I can't help you, sotty
