It seems to me as if every time i need a specific item for a residence upgrade, there are no more ads for that item on the marketplace. Finally get the item->instantly find 3 ads of that item on the marketplace. Seems quite rigged to me
If you are into city simulation you may try out other options. There are nowadays city simulations out there with millions of downloads.
SimCity will work allways against you. I have tried it two times. Some where between level 30 and 40 the game is over, Simoleons won't help since EA introduced waste amounts of currencies in to the game like Simcash, Diamonds, golden keys, platin keys etc.
For one single expansion of a few squares you will need 30 and more items. Also the kind of items is growing exponentially. Simoleons or endurance won't help. As you realized you can't buy the items and the production time takes days and weeks without any benefit or pleasure.
You. Will just get annoyed and feel disgusted.
Its a slow game. That is all.
