Are you leaving the app run in the background when your not playing? To turn the app off, double click the home button and then swipe up to send it away (close it out completely.) You might might want to close out any other apps you have running.
Also, do a hard reset of your device, this time hold down the home button and power button until the device completely powers off. Make sure it actually shuts off (otherwise that's a soft reset) and then turn it back on.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I was closing the app by double-clicking the home button, however, that wasn't helping.
I have now installed the ios 8.1 update and the battery performance is much better. The battery consumption by the SimCity app has gone down from 85% to 64%.

- Anonymous10 years agoSimCity BuildIt is really hungry for battery, on my iPad Air or iPhone 5s it literally eats battery :D
