I know there’s a thread dedicated to Fixing War Issues, but I’m not sure if it’s read by EA reps, so I’ll Post some suggestions here.
Clubs hiding under bubbles/dome are making these 2-day wars boring and predictable. It also gives clubs with more than 10 members an unfair disadvantage, since there are more cities to attack, while a 10-member club will get attacked and stay under a bubble for the remainder of the war if they are ahead.
Wars used to be fun and I believe encouraged active participation. I’ve noticed that more and more of our team members are less active during non-war periods and we’ve had members leave because they’re frustrated over this tactic used by small teams.
We typically have 15 club members participate in wars, yet we almost never stand a chance against a 10-12 club team (which has only 7 member usually participate.)
RECOMMENDATIONS
Here are some recommendations that I think would restore the competitiveness of Wars and ultimately increase player engagement, which I’m sure EA would be want.
-Match clubs to a club with equal or near equal club members when war is initiated. Gives both teams equal opportunity at earning points and will give clubs w/best strategy best opportunity to win..
Or
-Amount of damage needed to get put under a bubble/dome is related to size of city or number of buildings for each city. (Larger cities essentially will have to be attacked more to get bubbles).
Or
-Bubble Time-Out . When a city is put under a bubbles after 13 war damages, make the bubble expire after an appropriate amount of time (12 or 18 hours). If a city doesn’t repair any or all damage before bubble expiration, then the don’t receive the War Items damage that cities don’t repair. This will not allow for Clubs to hide under bubbles for essentially 90% of the war period. Will penalize clubs with non-participating team members and will make war more engaging.
Or
- Shorten wars by a day or more. Most of the war period is ‘dead time’ when a city is just sitting under bubbles until the end. At least this way a club can initiate another war once defeated with this inactive strategy versus being bored and discouraged from playing the game more.
MY FAVORITE: Bubble/Dome time-outs after receiving maximum war damage.
