  • This is my current problem.  I've updated my game October 18th 2017 and I own an iPad Pro.  I know my iPad isn't outdated.

    Hi @RoxyMoxie,

This seems to be the game needing an update, instead of your iPad. For some reason it doesn't seem to realize you just updated. Could you go to the App Store and check in the Updates section if there's any SimCity BuildIt updates available for you to install?

If not, please, open game settings and go to 'About SimCity'. Which version can you see there? Version number is in the third line.

Thanks, and welcome to Answers HQ! 🙂

  • Just tried to access my game on iPad and it will not connect to server until I update but there is no indication of how to update.  When I ty it takes to apps and asks me to open, then back to game and message box to update. Not listed in my game apps updates. What gives?

  • @OregonKepi Make sure your city is saved, once confirmed delete the app. Reload SimCity Buildit from the App Store and start the tutorial. Build the road and the 1st residence per the directions, at this point you should see settings icon (crossed screwdriver/wrench) and select choose the city you saved and want to play - be cautious not to select the city you are starting through the tutorial or your city is lost. The shortcut is courtesy of @roccodonovan8 and is certainly a time saver but you do have the option of completing the tutorial.
It’s simple, just be careful. Good luck.

Sounds good, but if I cannot get into the game is there another way to make sure the game is saved?

  • @OregonKepi  That’s a good point, I always make sure I’m connected when I start so I don’t really have a good answer for you. Perhaps someone else can share insight from their experience...there are some very clever folks in the forum who are willing to assist. The other option would be to contact technical support and they should be able to give you guidance. Good luck.

THanks for reply.  It was almost a year ago since I last logged in.  Should be OK then.

So. Turns out that my Generation 3 iPad cannot be upgraded past IOS9.3.5 and Sim City now requires IOS 10 and above. Well, that's irritating!
