I have exactly the same problem. IS THERE an answer to this? It seems extremly coincidencial that i have been looking for an item for the Mayors contest, and once i had to make it in 3 hrs and i do not need it anymore, then it shows on the world trade.. it is like they want you to have to buy stuff with real money, like a catch
The problem is in the contests. They are constantly running them hence the abundance of the same stuff flooding HQ. I am In a club and thought we were all doing the season together, turns out mine is finished but others have 3 to 2 more cities to go. The game has way to many items and they need to adjust what goes on sale when,not just tons of spice an ice cream. They are simply making more people have second and third cities just so they can shop.
