I've been saving these up for a while, and hopefully this is the best place to put them. Here are my bulleted suggestions, followed by explanations.
- change production time of planks to 10 min.
- visitor panel: city visited # times
- visitor panel: report city
- option setting: confirm simcash expenditure
- option setting: confirm sales
- option setting: filter city employee sales offers (% max price)
- directional view alignment feature (8 oblique, 4 top)
- save full city image on any device (matched orientation)
- thought bubble comments do not assume negligence
Change production time of planks to 10 min.
30 minutes of production time for a level 3 item is simply too high. A more reasonable number would be 10 or 15 minutes.
Visitor panel: city visited # times
This would be helpful and informative, while also allowing one to (mostly) distinguish between cities with the same name. Fun addition.
Visitor panel: report city
This would help eradicate cites with names like "Nazi Germany" or "deeznutsville" by passing the city's unique id directly to EA without showing it to the players. As a corollary to this needed feature, please use a dictionary to filter and not a stupid regex so I can use a real word like "perspicacity" without being flagged as a racist.
Option setting: confirm simcash expenditure
It is extremely annoying to accidentally spend a two-figure sum of simcash for no reason other than a slip of the finger (e.g., requesting a new ship when one has just arrived and you're ready to load all the boxes). Maddening, really. Please implement this sanity option.
Option setting: confirm sales
Even more infuriating is accidentally selling 20 dozer blades for the same kind of slip. With some devices being so small, these last two seem like a very reasonable pair of options to give your players.
Option setting: filter city employee sales offers (% max price)
This is a little more subtle, but still doable. I like city offers when they exceed what I can get for them in trade, but I have absolutely no use for them otherwise. Even a strict option to simply turn off all offers would be preferable to having to look at and mentally calculate the value of the offer. Either eliminate low offers (fire those employees), or give us the option of setting a filter based on a percentage of the maximum sale price. Please.
Directional view alignment feature (8 oblique, 4 top)
This would be simply awesome, a compass-like icon that instantly realigns the view to all four cardinal directions in either oblique or top-down view, in addition to the four corner directions in oblique view. I can't tell you the time I have spent micro-aligning the view in this game. Help!
Save full city image on any device (matched orientation)
ZOMG, u ROK!!!11one@!
Thought bubble comments do not assume negligence
This is one that always bothers me. The comments from your Sims when you add services always act as if you had been neglecting those services before you placed them, even if they had all of them, and had always been 100% happy Sims. This is a little bit rude, IMO. It shouldn't be too difficult to add a check for lapses before these comments appear.
[Edit: spacing]
I think the city offers could be more helpful to game play if they were to go to other real players.
The only time I even bother with city offers is when it's more then I can get at the trade post or I'm offline and have to dump merchandise.
What if there were a classified ad functionality where mayors can make offers to purchase merchandise at their asking price and other mayors could fulfill those offers.
In recent updates there looks to be these 'contracts' icons with goals/achievements for rewards.
What if those contracts were purchase offers from other mayors?
