Yes, it’s cool that EA is finally doing something about it. And this update will be good against feeder cities. But I do suspect that the wave of updates is due their cash register not ringing as often, so they are doing lots of things in hopes of retaining their customer base.
Though this update comes too late already. They should have actively resolved this bubble issue when club wars was in its infancy and the interest in it was still great. For any games, developers should be looking out for issues when they first launched their products and solving any problems arose before the problems blew up to epic proportions. Sadly, EA chose to focus on counting the moolahs and ignored our concerns. That is lack of foresight.
Most legit players got addicted to bubble strategy and when shield buster was introduced, they couldn’t function without the shields, so they moved on from this game (notice some bubble-loving forum members disappearing?). This is good example of letting the problem spiralling out of control. Sure, I don’t miss these bubble lovers since they are ruining the fun anyway. But with most of the legit teams leaving, we are left with only cheaters and feeders to fight. I had never fought so many cheaters before. Imagine fighting 5 cheater teams consecutively at 5000th place. That’s how bad it is.
Now with mostly cheaters and feeders populating this game, EA’s bottomline must be greatly affected. But when one lose the customers, nothing much can be done to woo them back, especially for mobile games. EA should have listened to us instead of regarding us as noises.

it also depends on how you like to play, without a doubt the bubble strategy was very popular (although many do not like to recognize it) Of course, in my opinion, feeder players damaged that emotion using 9 accounts and only playing with one that appeared at random times. Also the way SB was added was too gross and unbalanced
EA could have kept those bubble-strategy-loving players by simply creating game forms.
as well as in some games you can choose the campaign, free for all, cooperative. Well, when starting the war, being able to choose to start a war without SB (whoever wins the most points and can hide in the shield wins) and another game mode: knock out the enemy by locking them in his shield with a time counter (how it is now), and done, everyone happy, everyone satisfied. I suggested this at the time, but unfortunately, EA decided to act like that "democracy" in which a candidate wins with 51% of votes and the other half is forced to a new system that does not share or make their happy and that leads you to emigrate, in this case, to others games.

Exactly! The choice to choose the type of wars we want to play is a good way to solve the problem. But EA just loves to introduce new features without paying attention to details. They just threw in one SB to get us to pay to level up this disaster without considering anything else. There should be some kind of limitation to SB to make the game balanced.
As I had said before, when SB was first introduced, that was the best time to catch the cheaters since it was impossible to get level 15 SB with few days, but nothing was done about it.

@meesfeet, Good to see you, it’s been awhile - I readily concede you’re not a bubble proponent although we have discussed the validity in the past and since I have been a vocal opponent of the alleged bubble strategy I believe we need to define it in very specific terms (as many new folks have found their way to the forum) - it was simply who could get to the bubble first with the lead and hide the balance of the war game. No strategy involved just a simple game plan and quite honestly the easiest one to beat. Also to clarify I never said it was cheating...it simply was taking advantage of a programming glitch - I have expressed my disdain for the “strategy” and have clearly stated my perspective (and that of many others) so there’s no need to repeat it here as it effectively has gone by the wayside.
In my opinion, the answer to all 3 questions you asked is no. ⚽ there was absolutely no way a bubble team would ever get the lead against a real hacker, 🏈 the hackers certainly do not appear to have been reduced by this change, 🏀 the game is not better, but it’s certainly not as boring. You are correct the game once was strategic, the first 3 to 6 months prior to someone deciding that hiding and denying others the right to play was acceptable and any contest between 2 clubs that came to play and actually competed. @J6niceL is absolutely correct too many clubs including some of the top clubs reverted to this strategy to save resources, pick up easy wins and some to participate in multiple wars at the same time to collect resources for their primary club (not an opinion just a simple fact).
I’ve been playing the game since the beginning and from my associations I found many more players left during the height of the bubble strategy than have left due to the shield buster and the demise of “the strategy” - now if you add in the folks fed up with the hackers & cheaters you may be close to the same numbers. Since neither of us have the actual statistics, I will simply say the bottom line is until the cheating and hacking issues are addressed they will continue to lose customers. Take care & stay safe.- 6 years ago
Yup, gone are the days where a team can win by scoring 30k collectively. Lol
Now, victory or loss depending which side is more willing to put resources into the war. Actually, this actually makes more logical sense. Club wars will be in a better position to appeal to us again if EA really come down hard on the cheaters.
