I'm about to build the University and wondering if it's worth moving 4 buildings in the center of a high population or put it on a fresh piece of land on the side of the city? The population seems to go up immediately but it's a lot of prime real estate where I get the most boost.
Also, I hear some people remove the schools below University once they build one. What is the benefit of that? Wouldn't you want grade school through High School too?
Yep. Schools just use up space. Place universities as they cover more territory with a higher boost. It's a positive gain in the long run to only have U's.

1. Universities are the most important education buildings now, since they are the only building worth 3 tokens.
2. Whilst it is a good idea to delete the DoE and other education buildings later on, you'll need to rebuild them if there's ever more land expansion and you need to build more universities. The requirements to build a university is the "Community College", so keep that building and delete all the other education buildings lower than this.
FYI, I have 6 universities, but planning to build another 2 to fully cover all the city (keeping 1 College). This makes it much easier to complete gold epic projects.
said it in another thread, and I'll say it here too, EA needs to add a variety of 3 point epic value education buildings like famous museums...sell them for platinum keys or something. Need to break up the redundancy of only having universities. Would much rather have the Louvre in my Paris section than a repeat of another university.
