Hold on Mayors:

We have read another players post that says: secretly EA has created EMS service buildings that will cost nothing to repair.

WARNING: THIS WILL ONLY WORK IF YOU HAD PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF EMS BUILDING.

Things to keep in mind before performing the following. You would have had to have purchased the highest level of EMS building in order for this to work. Meaning; Deluxe Fire Station, Police Precinct and the Hospital.

First check your inventory by clicking on the icon in the lower right by selecting the building which when you do will show: Services and Specializations. As a seasoned player you should already know how to do this. When picking Fire, Police and Health you should see a + sign next to Deluxe Fire Station, Police Precinct and Hospital. It should show +9 in storage.

If your storage does not show a +9 in storage - DO NOT CONTINUE THIS WORK-AROUND! You will end up spending Simoleans to upgrade.

if your inventory does show a +9 in storage then continue on with the following:

First - bulldoze one at a time your Fire, Police, and Health buildings. You will receive a refund of 2,500, 4,000 and 4,000 Simoleans respectively (Fire, Police and Health) in bulldozing them. Go back to your inventory and select this highest level building that shows a +9, drag and drop this building into the place where you just bulldozed one of you previously purchased the highest level of EMS buildings.

Check you stash of Simoleans before and after performing this for the first time. There should be no cost to this and this begins to repair the EMS damage from release 2.0.

If this has worked out to where we have explained; IT DID FOR US, then do this for all of your previously purchase highest level of EMS Buildings. Every time you perform this please make sure your stash of Simoleans has not gone down and that your inventory levels have stayed at this +9 level.

Because we have 4 regional cities besides our capital city this inventory of highest level of EMS buildings stayed at +9 until we neared completion of all EMS building replacements.

Pleas keep in mind that if you have not purchased the highest level of EMS Service Building this method of recovery will not work. If you had previously purchased a lower lever of EMS Building then the upgrade option is the only option for repair on EMS. You  will dearly pay for it if you had not.

For our Utilities this method did not work and we had to spend 8, 714,921 Simoleans to upgrade these buildings. Which is still absurd to say the least. But having said that if you had purchased the highest level of these services in the first place then at least the cost of building then we did not have to pay, but upgrading we did.

The reason we had to spend so many Simoleans is because EA, its gaming team has increased the level of demand by 12 times. Where it used to be in the low hundreds is now in the high end of the thousands. And we had to purchase additional supply to meet this new absurd demand in all of our cities.

After all the repair we had only lost 500 Sims in population and that was due to reorganization in placing buildings. There was a minimal amount of buildings that needed "repair" but the cost of this was ordinary items that can easily be manufactured.

We have checked on our SCBI game two days in a row and everything has stayed "fixed" if you will understand that. So even if this is somewhat of a work around - it will not work for everyone. And that is the true tragedy of this scenario.

We know why EA did this - and that was a money grab born idea. Let's set everyone back to the starting point and see if we can squeeze out the last drop of cash. Nice going EA not only was this game a perpetual payment scheme not enough for you - you had to go and do this.

We can only hope that the new buyers of EA; and investment firm owned by the Saudi Arabians will change the way of thinking. But don't hold your breath - there will be other more important things to worry about - personal and financial data in connection with this game will be of an utmost concern.
