I'd say it's someone who had money to burn, no other way. I'm at level 55 and I just caculated that I need to upgrade my buildings 65 times at least to go 1 level up. That person couldn't have done that without spending real money IMO.
I thought it would be an even playing ground too. I was expecting to be matched up against only other level 70s like myself but there are 20s, 30s, a few 40s, 50s, 60s and only one other 70. It doesn't matter in the end though with each player getting random assignments for random points. The guy who is winning in my group is only a level 20 and he got 17100 points within a few hours of the start of the contest. I did the highest point challenges and ended up with only 12500 points. It's not even a contest if each player gets different points with different assignments. I have 60 epic buildings but that didn't help me even move to the next league
@Ft_Livingroom, If someone got over 17,000 within hours, the only possible way to do that is with a hack. Obviously a cheat. I didn't notice anything near like that with mine. We all pretty much started with the initial 1500, then some people went up slowly, but in big chunks others went up fast in small chunks. I screwed up, but it was the first time and figuring it out. I went up quickly in small chunks, but topped out around 6800. I didn't realize I couldn't do all the assignments until it was too late. So I went up fast to the top of the board, but still had 3 days left when I was out of assignments. I would notice others going up in large chunks very slowly over multiple days and they ended up around the 18000 mark. I finished around 12th place.
I will take a different strategy the next time, but right now I'm more wanted to increase my cheetah epic count than the contest, so I may continue to do the quick and easy route just to get back to doing cheetah and take 1-2 keys and worry about the contest once my cheetah count is up to par.
- I reported that city and posted the picture of his score compared to everyone else in our league. I figured he must have done some type of hack also. I have not heard anything back from EA so I don't figure they will do anything and that was last Monday, 8 days ago
Week 2 has arrived and I think they may of screwed up the payoff structure. First complaint is players that end up the week with ZERO points should not receive any coins or level promotions, period. Second complaint is there should be no more than 25 possible 'advancements' to the next tier per week, make people do some work. How about this for a weekly payoff.... 1st five - 4 keys plus coins, next 10 - 2 keys plus coins, next 15 - 1 key plus coins. And lastly, are the 100 players actually based on 'population'? (since levels still vary widely) They're clearly not based on players of the same level.
There needs to be some kind of in game moderator to remove those using cheats. In my current league a city named Valtapolis reached around 29,000 within a few hours of the league starting. This is probably only possible with unlimited amounts of Sim cash. Surely it would be possible for EA to confirm that the player is using cheats and bar them from the leagues?
You don't have to cheat to get in the 20,000's. I ended up with 17K last week. I just chose the highest value assignment each time. 2 of with were 3K each. Speed up tokens make it a lot easier to get an assignment done that are just basic "build x number of items" types. I completed a 1500K task in 5 minutes and only had to use 16 bucks of sim cash. it was a "complete 2 deliveries to Paris" assignment and I had a plane currently there then completed it, used 16 sim bucks and had the next plan arrive early and then completed that
If you are in the middle of one assignment and you see that the highest lvl assignment still left is for example "Produce and Collect 15 Tables" then you need to have the nails and wood planks built up so that that as soon as your current assignment is done you start the next one and you already have the materials for it. you then use a cheetah speed up tokes and you have those tables done i less than an hour.
- Not true. I have 8 gold tokens per day, Prepare enough Vu, presold items, and Paris/London/Japan items, and houses are all ready for upgrade. Often i will get the right tasks and finish 10 in 2 hours cor 20,000 points. No hack, no feeder city.
- On cheats, i once saw someone achieve over 64000 in the first few hours. They were gone (banished by EA) the next day.
