What is going on with the game? Disappointment after disappointment

I would really like to know what the developers vision for the game has been, because last season was a total dissapointment, and this season is actually worse.

The list of disappointments I am rambling about:

1. Season Pass change - initially I was excited for the idea of seasons being shortened and I anticipated the rewards in the pass would change. I thought the season pass was being changed in part to address the oversupply of mountain expansion items that clog up global every single second of every day. Instead what we got were reduced simcash rewards, less mayor's pass specialty buildings, and a continuing oversupply of mountain expansion items on global.

2. Tokyo Season - the Tokyo season had potential to be a great season, but with the season pass change along with the reduced amount of Mayor's Pass buildings, the buildings that were ultimately included in the pass were honestly not that great. I don't hate them, but with a city as filled with history and culture as Tokyo, the buildings included were modern buildings and they look completely mundane and unnoticeable when place next to epic buildings or Tokyo buildings. There's not really stand out about them in my opinion.

3. Super Services Season - I will admin, the Super Service buildings do look cool, but what a waste of a season pass. I do admit the Super Service buildings look cool, but they are one time buildings, so they clash violently with the 6-7 of the Omega service building equivalents. The Super Services buildings are excellent for cities that are still building out, but my city is completely built out so these buildings serve zero purpose.

4. Most recent design exchange rewards - the design challenge rewards are terrible. Not even worth the effort needed to earn them.

5. Trains - probably the most anticipated thing to be added to the game (I would like to have trains as an option simply for design purposes, but I am fine not having them) and now they are the thing beta testers hate most in the game. These were messed up so badly I don't ever want trains added to the game, this mess up on them is so bad it's left an everlasting bad taste in my mouth.

6. Milestones - I have a love and hate relationship with milestones. Conceptually, I like them better than streaks. But the milestones have made the game more demanding to play, and have caused the game to feel repetitive and I believe was causing burn out amongst the players. I've submitted many suggestions to add additional milestones to broaden the types of milestones we can get, but there has been no change. I used to enjoy war, but now I hate wars because everyone wants to be at war because they got a milestone they need to complete to move on.

I never rate apps or anything in the app store, but I rated an app for the first time recently, and that app was SimCity BuildIt, and I only gave it 1 star. I would have gave the game 0 stars if that was an option. I am not sorry for giving the game such a low rating either. The London season was one of my favorite seasons, but the quality of the game has gone downhill at a 180 degree angle since then.

  • Couldnt agree more!! The engagement from my team is at an all time low and members that previously spent a lot of money are on strike! This has got to change. The biggest complaint is that now we're being asked to buy the contest prem pack 13 times per year instead of 10 and are getting so much less!! We just dont understand why ea have done this!

I agree with you on some things, but not others.

EA should lower the price of the Passes.

But this season is very good. I would recommend a video for you to watch. I don't know if I can do it, but it's in Spanish: https://youtu.be/fnV1vIvV5eA

EA should understand what they are doing right, and what they are doing wrong, because if not, they will kill the game.

    I hope they listen.

  • Can they please be removed?

Also, TrackTwenty, can you just stop wasting your time with the trains? We do not want them in the current form and as much as you messed them up, I don't ever want you to try to implement them again.

  • I've completely lost trust and faith in Electronic Arts and Tracktwenty's ability to develop and maintain games. The SimCity BuildIt community seems to be largely against the Trains but EA and Tracktwenty are forging ahead with them anyway. I decided I will not resume playing at any point, the Trains can become the most user friendly thing ever, but EA and Tracktwenty does not seem to comprehend these things are a huge disruption to the game instead of being a fun thing.

If I ever desire to run trains, I'll get a train set. Happy Holidays.

But all SimCity games have always had trains. Why not now?
