Why does the places where I can get Epic Points change?
For example, last time I started an "Epic Project", I could get "Epic Points" from my "Surfer Beach", "Sailorman's Piers", and "Lighthouse". However, this time I can only earn "Epic Points" from my "Entertainment HQ". This really sucks because sometime I am able to have multiple buildings producing 2 - 3 "Epic Points" per transaction (giving me a shot at getting a silver or gold building), but other times I only have a single building giving me a single "Epic Point" per transaction (which means I will get no better than a bronze building).
As you can see in this image, none of the beach buildings now offer me "Epic Points"

each epic project can only use one type of specialization buildings. You can see which type will be used when you start the project.
So if the specialization is beach then only beach buildings like the sailormans pier will give epic points. The project you show in the screenshot is an entertainment project so you will only get epic points from entertainment buildings.
It is also possible to change specialization before the project starts for Simoleons.
