According to the lack of answers, it seems that there is nothing planned for Simcity. Another franchise that bites the dust under EA's management...
If only we could have at least a new patch for Simcity 2013, giving us bigger maps to play with (now that PCs have more processing power than ten years ago) and a couple of bug fixes. I know that the studio responsible for Simcity was closed, but I suppose that there is still someone around at EA that knows how Glassbox works.
Just by doing a couple of improvements to the game, EA could take advantage of the Cities Skylines 2 situation and bring some newcommers and former SC players back, making profit in the process.
Unfortunately, selling FIFA booster packs is more profitable than supporting hardcore city-builder players.
