Cities of Tomorrow expansion pack guide

I am playing Sim City Cities of Tomorrow w/ Expansion Pack.  I'd like to find a printable game guide since the tutorial doesn't help much.

Also trying find the discussion group for this edition of the game

  • Hi @bloomlwold - The only written guide for SimCity is from the base game; it helps a little with keyboard shortcuts and that sort of thing: Direct link to SimCity Manual

Unfortunately, I am not aware of any super helpful written guides for the Cities of Tomorrow expansion pack. In lieu of lessons, the developers used the advisors and the "tool tips" that come up as you progress. I don't care for that system, as I am a planner and it was really difficult to plan ahead the first few times as you can't just look in a help file and see what's happening.

The best I can do is give you a few links with some tips and hints that might be helpful.

Simtropolis has great people & lovers of SimCity; not a lot of active SC2013 discussions, but if you post it appears they will answer

General Tips Discussion - ideas for traffic, zoning, regional vs city transportation, etc

Regional Sharing  - what works, what doesn't

Gifting & Building Great Works - synchronization issues

Omega - Great tutorial about how Omega manufacturing works. If you want to skip all of the "prep" and explanation on plopping buildings, jump to the 11 minute mark

Skye's 60 Second Tips - Very useful, short video hints & tips

Skye Storm's Cities of Tomorrow Let's Play Series - This is a long, long series; each video is about 15 - 20 minutes long. However, I don't think there's anyone who explained CoT better. I started out bouncing around in the series, watching ones whose titles matched what I was trying to figure out. Great video series, really shows the beauty and fun of SC2013 & CoT, but not for those who have a limited data plan 🙂

If you run into any specific questions that you can't resolve, feel free to post them in this forum for discussion. Happy building!

Thank you for your help,  I am trying to get into simtropolis but it acts like it knows me yet I can't ever remember being on that site. It won't accept my email or allow me to sign in as a new user.

    Any ideas.

    Thank you.

Hi @bloomlwold - I moved your message again, so all your posts are in the same message. It can be a little hard navigating this site sometimes, especially if your posts are moved. The links I shared are in this thread now - here's the link to the post: https://answers.ea.com/t5/SimCity-2013/Cities-of-Tomorrow-expansion-pack-guide/m-p/9422755#M128762

For future reference, if you're looking for your posts you can click on your profile picture which will take you to a page with all your posts listed. Alternatively, you can click the down arrow under your name in the top right of the web page and choose "Profile". Either one will take you here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/32380550

You can also subscribe to your posts so whenever anyone replies you will get an email. On the first post of this thread, choose the "Topic Options" drop-down box and then choose "Subscribe". Or when you're writing a post, there is a "Subscribe to replies" checkbox that will automatically subscribe you to all replies.

On your other question about Simtropolis, I really don't know much about the site. I would suggest looking for a "lost password" section, in case you've signed up before, it should email you a temp new password. Or try signing up with a different user name - maybe someone else is already signed up with the name you chose?

I hope this helps - Happy Building!
