EA has the WORST customer service

I bought SimCity, came home and went to install is and am being told the registration code has been used! I contacted EA, and Nipun was miserable help. Apparently I bought the game used, and per EA policy, I can't do that. Now because the game is open, the retailer wont accept the return! When I requested to speak to the supervisor, I was asked to hold, and Nipun came back with a reply! I'm done with EA.

you: I bought simcity and told I cannot install it due to the product code already being used

you: is there anyway to get the code reset or am i out the money paid?
Nipun: I would like to inform you that you have purchased a used copy of the game it cannot be redeemed on your account as once the code is redeemed it cannot be redeemed again .
Nipun: As per the EA policies we do not suggest customers to purchase a used copy of the game .
you: this is a very bad policy as I bought it NEW
you: and very bad customer service
Nipun: I understand your state of mind but these policies are made for the security of the customer's account .What best I can do is I will provide you a 15% discount code which you may use to purchase the new copy of the same .How about that ?
you: I already bought it! What does a 15% discount do when I already paid $60 for it?
Nipun: I am afraid then as its an online game needs to active on the account which you are using .I am so sorry as you would not be able to play until its active on your account .
you: may i speak with your supervisor
Nipun: Yes you may

Nipun: As I have checked this issue with my supervisor he also told me the same thing that once the code is redeemed it cannot be redeemed again on other account .
Nipun: This is an EA policy .
you: EA has just lost a customer for life
you: I will gladly post to every forum social networking site about this issue
Nipun: If I were in your shoes, I’m sure I’d feel just as you do but as per the policies this is not possible to redeem the code again .
you: and considering I asked to SPEAK to your supervisor and you come back with a reply, that is very bad customer service

  • Even if there is a problem with the advisory your speaking to, you don't have the right to treat disrespectfully. They're doing there job and it doesn't help to take your negative outlook view on EA out on them. 

  • I registered my Sims 3 games when I bought them but I had to get a new computer. Because the cases were so clunky I recycled them and kept the code sheets in a drawer, but I’m missing two of them. I’ve been trying to get in touch with customer support for a week now. 2 chats, both of which I waited 10 or so minutes before a robot confirmed my identity. Then I get sent to a rep who never answers the chat. I waited 2 hours the first time and 3 1/2 the second, it’s ridiculous.

    I tried calling, but I think the number listed was either a scam or horrible customer service because they wanted to charge me $9.99 to tell me the codes to the games I registered (you cannot register without a product code) but the games themselves were only $20, that’s absurd.

    I sent an email through the customer satisfaction survey asking whether or not it was possible to retrieve the codes and it’s been 4 days. All I want is an answer and I can’t get anyone to take 1 minute to tell me yes or no.

    This customer service is garbage.

    @Taylor44559  This is the SimCity forum, not Sims 3, so there may be other things to try under the correct forum. SimCity doesn't require the serial codes to install on another computer, you should just be careful to log in to Origin on the same exact account, and all game expansions should be in your game library.

    For a CD install of Sims 3, however, if you still have your old computer, you should be able to get your serial code from it. Log in to Origin, right-click the game icon and choose the settings button (under the download button). Click on Settings, then Game Properties, and the serial code should be listed there.

  • Shut the * up this customer service is controlled by money grabbing wolves who dont give a single * about us people. Ive been bannwd without reason and lost all my content. You may kiss there arses but I wouldnt stand for this * answer you give. EA IS JUST A * * MONEY GRABBING COMPANY WHO DOENST CARE ABOUT ANYTHING OR ANYONE!
