Install/Download Error

Hi, I wanted to get back into SimCity so I downloaded it- which took about an hour. Then it said the update was complete but an error popped up saying: "Error: The VC++ runtime redistributable package was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue.." After which it will say the download failed.

Any ideas how to fix past this to get my game going?

    Hi @albrant123, and welcome to Answers HQ!

    It's great to read you feel like spending some time on SimCity, let's try to fix this so you can play your game 😉

    Try this:

    1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\__Installer\vc\vc2008sp1MFCUpdate\redist
    2. Right click on vcredist_x86.exe, and select Run as administrator
    3. Wait until the installation finishes, and try again.

    That should be the VC++ redistributable package that was not installed successfully. Let us know if it helps 🙂

    Sorry, I haven't checked back in on this!

    I actually got it up and it works great, thank you for all the help.
