Losing the Mouse Pointer

In playing Sim City Cities of Tomorrow with the expansion pack when entering the population panel, unless I quickly move the pointer out of the panel, I sometimes lose the pointer.  The only way I have been able to get it back is ctrl alt delete and sign out. Then sign back in and reload the game.  Any ideas?

A little story too.  A couple of times in the past when I left the game up, intending to return later, I forgot to put it on pause.  When I returned I would have a million in cash but a city so completely destroyed by fire and other things than I would have to start over.  Yesterday I walked away again forgetting to put the game on pause.   When I returned I had over a half million in cash but absolutely no destruction in the city.  My guess the city was pretty new and I had created strong fire and medical services plus plenty of jobs. Curious.

Having a great tine with this game

  • Hi @bloomlwold - If the mouse cursor disappears when you're in the population panel, you can use the Esc button to back out of the window. Then right-click anywhere on your city and it should bring it back. That's not a great solution, but it's better than signing out.

To fix, go into your mouse cursor settings and set to default settings. It most often happens if you have mouse trails enabled, but different mouse themes can sometimes make it occur, too.

I had this happen to me once, which was strange, since I think they fixed it. I didn't have any changes in my mouse settings, but I changed to a theme and then changed back to default, rebooted my computer, and haven't had the problem any more. You could try a "repair game" if it keeps happening. (right-click on the SimCity icon in Origin, choose Repair Game)
