This game requires administrative privileges

I run as a user on Windows 11 pro 23H2, so need to give explicit permission to run as administrator. Running the EA app as administrator gives the same result. I also tried running the simcity.exe file as administrator, but the same error messages appear, so no difference. I tried uninstalling the EA app and reinstalling, same result. Also tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling the game, same result. 

The crazy thing is this game ran fine on this machine earlier and I haven't changed anything. Maybe there's been an update from Microsoft or EA that made it stop working?

The machine is a powerful modern PC with:

 128GB RAM, 12 core 24 threads Ryzen 9 5900X, Radeon RX 6900XT GPU

The machine specification has staid the same since it was working. No new components have been installed.

    I have the same problem. Is there any solution meanwhile? Also here the game worked fine before on the same computer (win 11 pro).

    Does anyone have any updates?

    I tried contacting EA via chat, but none of the suggested procedures resolved the issue...

    I have the same problem and unfortunately nothing form reddit or other forums worked . It's realy sad, i always loved the game. I was heart broken after they changed origin for this s#it with so many errors they call a launcher ever since i have problems ever so often with launching games changing my avatar and many more things. I hope some solution will be available soon.

    Personally, I bypassed the problem by launching the launcher and the game from my PC's admin account. Normally, you shouldn't have to launch a game from an administrator account, but it was the only way to play.

    same issue. game ran just fine on jan. 18 2026, but now i am getting same errors
