My SimCity 4 Deluxe Cd-Key will not redeem in Origin

Hi,

Since my SimCity 4 Deluxe disks don't work (too scratched up), I would like to redeem my retail product key on Origin. I read online that all games released after 2009 are able to be redeemed, including SimCity 4 Deluxe. But when I enter my product key into Origin it says, "The product code you have entered is not valid. Please confirm that the code has been entered correctly."

I purchased the game brand new, and haven't given my code to anyone else, so it can't be used already. I have also double checked and it was entered correctly. Is there any way that I can redeem a downloadable copy of the game with this code?

    I tried the online option and got the same response. Any other ideas?

    Heyy, i am trying to do the same thing now and i was wondering if you ever got it to work?

    A CD key and digital download probably have different code ranges. I know a few specifically state they're used for digital purchase.

    The other option is dig up $20 and buy the digital download from Origin or Steam.

    They have specials on all the time to. Pretty sure I only paid $10. I couldn't even find my old game box.. lol. (way back when. Must have given it to someone)

    Trying to get my code to work as well but it just wont, since windows 10 simcity4 just doest work.

    I do not want to rely on the steam or origin downloaded versions though, I use simcity4 to make world mods for sims 2

    Simcity4 is downloaded on my pc, was hoping origin key would help run it.
