Although wrong PC Time and Date can be an easy culprits,
there are a few problems people might also have (which I had them all... lucky me :manfrustrated: )
FIREWALL/ANTIVIRUS/ANTISPYWARE
programs might be blocking your Origin log on
Solution:
1. Go to your windows firewall (Click Start and type "Firewall" in the search field, then select "Windows-Firewall" from the results)
2. Click either "Allow a program to communicate through Windows Firewall" or "Change settings" (seems to work the same to me)
*( If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation in the pop-up window.)
3. Select "Exceptions" Tab, (scroll down if necessary)
Make sure that the following checkboxes are marked:
☑ Log on services
☑ Battlefield 3 * * * ( mark all other Origin games you have installed )
☑ Battlefield 4
☑ Battlefield 4 (x64)
☑ Origin
☑ Electronic Arts * * *(might not be on your PC as only older games have it)
☑ EA * * *(might not be on your PC as only older games have this)
☑ (HTTPS) * * * {not HTTP!!!}
☑ ... * * *(make sure all the AMD/NVIDIA/or any other graphic card connections are marked too)
3* In case you cannot see "Origin" in the list
click "Add Program" below and select the folder where the Origin is installed
(it is found in C:\Program Files or C:\Program Filesx64 by default )
Just add it to the list and click the checkbox ☑
4. Click OK and relog or restart your PC.
P.S. If this didn't help, try adding exceptions to your Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware too
(I cannot possibly give you instruction on your specific type of software, this you have to find for yourself, there's just too many of them to cover)
IF FIREWALL FIX DOESN'T HELP,
then it is probably a BAD WINDOWS REGISTRY (dun-dun-DUUUN! :catmad🙂
Solution:
1. Manually uninstall Origin
All the instructions here: https://help.ea.com/article/manually-uninstalling-origin
2. Then make a backup copy of the file "hosts" located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
(save the backup copy anywhere you want, it is nly to restore in case of errors)
(however if you copy to the same folder, it has to have a different name:"hosts_backup" for example)
Open the original "hosts" located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc with Notepad (right click "open with...")
and delete everyhing except what has # symbol in front and these 2 lines:
127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com
::1 localhost
3. Save the changes
4. Download the latest Origin version
BUT DO NOT INSTALL IT: THIS IS IMPORTANT IF YOU WANT TO AVOID OTHER KNOWN PROBLEMS!!!
5. Disconnect from the internet, TURN OFF Firewall and any Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware you have.
6. Install Origin
(DO NOT TOUCH ANY OTHER FILES BECAUSE YOUR PROTECTION IS OFF, ONLY STRICTLY INSTALL ORIGIN)
(* ... I WARNED YOU)
7. TURN ON your Anti-Spyware/Anti-Virus and Firewall ! ! !
8. Restart your PC
9. Update Origin
10. Enjoy! 😕mileytongue:
