[PC] Your Game Failed to Launch / Get The Game on already owned game
I originally purchased SimCity 2013 at launch.
I recently (within the last year or 2) merged my Origin accounts, and was originally told I'd lose a sunset game. SimCity was lost to my library for a while. It has recently shown back up.
When I tried to install SimCity, I get the 'Your game failed to launch' error but the corresponding buttons on the window are 'Get the game' and 'close'.
Fast Forward to today when I have the itch to play once again. I think 'maybe I need to repurchase the game' which I did (complete edition). I've now purchased the game / DLC twice.
I still get the error.
I've tried the following steps ALREADY:
- cleared cache
- uninstalled/reinstalled game
- changed location of installation (C:/ [where EA App is installed] or D:/ [where other EA Games are installed])
- changed properties to run as admin or not (for EA App and SimCity)
- changed firewall settings (for EA App and SimCity)
I run Windows 11 and do not have the game through XBox Game Pass or EA Play - just purchased it directly through the EA App. My other EA game (Sims 4) that I have installed on my computer runs fine. There are no mods or anything installed as I cannot launch the game at all.
