Where is the resolution to the city not saving your progress. I just got railroaded by chat support a couple hours ago tell me uninstall and reinstall but continues doing the same error saving cities. I want resolution and an answer
Hi @simcityshep - A block on the save like this usually means there is a permissions error somewhere.
Firewall and Antivirus - Make sure SimCity4.exe and Origin.exe are added to exception lists. If you have BitDefender installed, disable it.
SimCity4.exe and Origin.exe - Set them to run "as administrator"
Nahimic 2 from MSI - this is an audio management program that comes with MSI motherboards. Disable or uninstall it. Nahimic 2 is known to cause this issue.
Disable Origin in-game In Origin main menu, right-click SimCity 4 icon, Game Properties, check the box that says "Disable Origin In-game"
Run in Windows 7 or 8 compatibility mode - right-click SimCity 4 shortcut; choose Properties > Compatibility tab > Check the box to run in Win 7 or 8 compatibility mode
Make a new city as a test just to see if you can save it. If it gives you an error & still won't save, reply back with more information about your computer and game. What version Windows are you running, are you running from Origin or a desktop icon, do you have any mods installed? Include any error messages or other information you think might help.
