its truly an art to screw up so incredibly much like EA did
Well, the word is out.
EA Games are shutting down the SimCity 2013 services by the end of June 2023.
What a shame. I hope the old guards of Maxis Studio who just started a brand néw studio, will bring back SimCity and do implement those features all of us are longing for.

I've been digging around for an hour and cannot find any additional information on this topic.
Would it be surprising if they suspended server operations? No, not really. Though, I assume single-player would be playable.
- 2 years ago@ZipJaw3979 Even single-player games are saved on their servers.

I figured they would be locally saved on our hard drives meaning we could access the savegames. I suppose that's no longer the saving grace I had mounted my hope onto 😕
- 2 years ago@Karnemeth where is this information? I found they are shutting down some servers but I could not find SimCity listed, this is just a login server issue.

I just purchased SimCity 2013 two days ago, does it usually allow you to play this game offline? I would assume that they would need to make this playable offline if they plan to remove servers, but like mentioned above I do not believe that is what is happening right now.

I have read that update 10 back in 2014 was supposed to make this game playable offline, I am not sure if I do not have it because I just purchased the game, but can anyone confirm or deny the ability to play single player offline?

You can play offline but you still have to log into it first, so the same thing effecting everyone else would still be a problem for you too.
