Simcity 5 Install Problem (STILL)

Ok, so you all probably had a frustrating problem with Simcity 5, right? Well you all got it fixed? Right? Well, i got it a week ago, its mid June now, and i cant even get past installation. It goes 25%, 40%, !00%. And asks if i want to install. Ive tried refreshing a lot. Ive tried downloading Directx and installing it, Ive tried uninstalling origin and reinstalling it. Ive tried redirecting where games install, Ive tried deleting the Logs client, ive tried what i believe to be everything. And nothing happens, i still cant get past installation. I really like this game and want to enjoy it, and unfortunately to me that's still a dream. PLEASE HELP!!! ANYONE!?!

-DETAILS-

I bought the direct Origin download

I have Windows Vista

These are the recorded errors in the Log_client.HTML wwhen i attempt to log in and install SIMCITY 5:

(this one happens upon log in)

50 [Jun 14 00:56:45.906] Error Origin::Engine::Content::ContentController refresh [3028] Start to retrieve user entitlement list.

(the rest are during installation i think)

73 [Jun 14 00:57:10.546] Error Origin::Escalation::IPCClient sendMessage [3032] Connection to escalation service failed. Qt LocalSocketError: 2

75 [Jun 14 00:57:10.547] Error Origin::Escalation::ExecuteProcessTask run [4700] Couldn't split environment key/value pair from:

76 [Jun 14 00:57:12.413] Error Origin::Escalation::IPCClient sendMessage [3032] Connection to escalation service failed. Qt LocalSocketError: 2

87 [Jun 14 00:58:05.875] Error Origin::Services::ProcessWin waitForExit [2396] ProcessWin: 0x1674 Exit result: 0

(dont know what this one is, it appears blue)

66 [Jun 14 00:56:46.850] Warning Origin::Engine::Content::GamesController getPlayedGameTime [3028] trying to call getPlayedTime with empty contentId

PLEASE HELP! I'D EXTREMELY appreciate it!!!!!! Thank you.

    GDF = Game Definition File (Microsoft)

    I thought it was interesting that the install directory is C:\Origin Games\SimCity when the default Origin installer is in

    C:\ProgramData\Origin\DownloadCache

    and the target directory is C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity.

    Your file location is C:\Origin Games\SimCity\GDFBinary_en_US.dll

    Did a quick search for your error and came up with this.  It's a different EA game but similar issue.

    Example: http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/forum/threadview/2832654624746330845/

    Having to mess with the registry to get a game installed is just wrong.

    SimCity is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow 6432Node\Maxis\SimCity

    GDFBinary REG_SZ  C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\GDFBinary_en_US.dll

    Install Dir   REG_SZ  C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\

    Well.. at least you've made it past the VC++ install and GDF. There was a fix for the 'checking for updates' loop, if that's the problem. Rename the directory..

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\SimCityUserData to something like SimCityUserData1

    (edited from delete to rename.. in case it blows up lol) and try again. Here's hoping.

    Now these are the errors in the log.html when i click "Play". There are others but those are things like when i log in, so they arent important

    81 [Jun 17 12:46:36.102] Error Origin::Services::ProcessWin createProcess [2876] Open Path (C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\SimCity\SimCity.exe)

    82 [Jun 17 12:46:36.107] Warning Origin::Services::ProcessWin createProcess [2876] CreateProcessW(C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\SimCity\SimCity.exe) Handle: 2968 bProcSuccess: t LastError: 0

    83 [Jun 17 12:46:36.358] Warning Origin::Services::ProcessWin waitForProcessGroup [4356] Resuming new process main thread. ProcessWin: 0x00001540 Thread: 0x00000190

    I still have absolutely no idea what the blue one means. Hope this helps.

    Now when it i try to update it says it is up to date, so thats not the situation anymore. im thinking there's something wrng with the actual .exe of simcity, thats whats in the logs. Idk how to fix it. the only problem now is Error [3000], im gonna make another post about it.

    I followed the registry update listed in this thread.

    It fixed my first problem.  then I was getting the "error [3000]" message.

    so this is how I fixed that on my PC after 2 days with tech support and constant trying new things:

    I GOT IT... at least for this part... It's currently downloading updates...

    in my registry I found there are two sections for SimCity:

    * one is =  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Wow6432Node-  -> Maxis -> SimCity

    *  two is = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> WOW6432Node   -> Origin Games -> 71572

        (at least in my case the number was 71572).

    I made sure they were both updated (not just one).  Here is what my current registry entries look like:

    one = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Wow6432Node- -> Maxis -> SimCity

    Name                  Type            Data

    (Default)              REG-SZ     (value not set)

    DisplayName     REG-SZ     SimCity

    GDFBinary           REG-SZ     C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\GDFBinary_en_US.dll

    Install Dir             REG-SZ     C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity

    Locale                  REG-SZ      en_US

    two = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> WOW6432Node -> Origin Games -> 71572

    Name                  Type             Data

    (Default)              REG-SZ      (value not set)

    DisplayName     REG-SZ      SimCity Digital Deluxe Edition

    GDFBinary           REG-SZ       Path\\to\\SimCity\\GDFBinary_en_US.dll

    Install Dir             REG-SZ        Path\\to\\SimCity

    Locale                  REG-SZ        en_US

    I hope this helps a lot of people.  I know it hepled me... at least so far...
