This crash doesn't just crash to desktop, it shuts my whole computer down.
I'm running Windows 7 64bit, Core i5, 8GB of RAM, and nVidia GeForce GTX570 (with latest drivers).
Any ideas why this would be happening after update 3.0? I'm so frustrated and I have no idea what to do, my computer runs all other games with no problem.
Only hardware problems can do what you describe, usually overheat, but also very often a more dangerous failure, power supply fade.
I have to respectfully disagree. I get BSODs as well. Mostly related to "dxgmms1.sys" which is what leads me to believe the game conflicts with the graphic drivers. I have my system overeclocked to the max, and never had this issue with any game or program. Since having the issue with SimCity, i backed everything back to stock. Trust me nothing in my system is overheating, or low on power, or having any other type of failure.
Like you say, only hardware problems can cause BSOD, but it's the software that's causing the issue with the hardware. Again, it happens no matter what brand of video card people are using. I can't even run the game on my motherboard integrated Radeon HD4250.
Origin and/or EA need to get off their asses and fix this **bleep** issue. It's been going on far too long.
