I play the game and after a little bit it crashes, it says "sim city as stopped working" i know it has nothing to do with my graphix card or anything because it used to do it with simcity 4 not that long ago. I dont know how to fix it, It will not stop crashing. I dont know if its origin but im starting to dislike origin a lot because of these issues.
I am livid with anger right now. I cant believe that I just cant play a game which I payed for. I dont care about the free game. i want to play simcity. I dont understand why it is so hard to resolve this.

My name is Max, and so far from this game not only has it half destroyed my computer, it no longer works. I installed it on the 7th of March and didn't play until the 10th. It was ok as I still had a little faith it would be a good game. Then after playing for a hour bang black screen no warning nothing. So i reboot my computer only to find out that it will happen again another 500 times. I then go to repair install the game, I can't do that... I go to fresh install the game and It comes up with a missing .par message. I couldn't figure out what was going on!? all of a sudden the computer crashes hard and I leave it for a day extremely pissed off. The next morning I boot up the computer to check my email and it won't start. I load my secondary drive and manage to load up my backup install on the d drive. After looking with dread at what may have caused the computer not to load I find out that not only has simcity been corrupted. MY ENTIRE C DRIVE HAS BEEN UNINSTALLED OR CLASSED AS MISSING (cannot find this program bla bla). So as we speak, I am stuck on my D drive unable to play simcity, missing half my software (some of it expensive antivirus etc) and very pissed off. I called ea support Australia only to find out they aren't availible on Saturday, **bleep**ING SATURDAY, they have prerecorded messages for you that are COMPLETELY USELESS. I actually feel like sewing EA for this **bleep**.
I have the same problem but I notice after all of these posts not a single solution to help anyone with these issues. They released a game that looks like it is 4 to 6 months from being a full working version too. Never should they release a game that is not finished like they did with this one. Pathetic
I have this exact same peoblem! At first everything was great, I started a city, and had a little fun. Then all of a sudden my computer turns off! The screen goes black, and the mouse and keyboard don't do anything. The wierd thing is I have this blue light on my desktop, when it is on the light is blue, when it is off, well the light turns off. After the game crashes and my computer shuts down, the blue light stays on! I'm so confused, it's like my computer only half shut down, or something like that. I can't believe how much anger I feel for EA! And I know it's not my computer because I'm above the required specs. I have a 650ti graphics card, 400w power supply, 6GB of ram, and an AMD Phenom II 2.9 processor with 4 cores. I can't even play the game! Seriously EA!? I don't think I have ever hated a company so much.

I followed the link you provided. Unfortunately there was no relevent information for my freezing problems. I guess I should be grateful I am not suffering some of the nasty issues others are having like boot drives becoming unreadable etc... The closest to my issue was the issue of being bounced to the desktop and one of the solutions was to dissable your anti-virus software. I had to read that one several times. The idea of dissabling my anti-virus software to play an ALWAYS online game seemed ludicrous in the extreem and I don't recommend anyone try that. I realize you were trying to be helpful by providing the link and I am not critisizing you at all (unless that was your suggestion to dissable antivirus software).
This constant and consistent crashing is ridiculous I've had this problem from day one on the release and every time I play it at some point it crashes. Could be 5-10 min or up to 30 min of gameplay but my session always ends in a crash. I have more then the minimum requirements and updated all that could be. At this point SimCity has been a complete failure in my mind. A fix would be nice.
Guys I finally resolve my BSOD, freezing picture,looping sound!!! I have motherboard asus f1a75m and after updating my bios and leave auto settings I don't have anymore problems! Now I'm playing 3rd hour without crash! I always had problems after 30-40 min of gameplay! Hope this will help someone.
