SimCity buildings in holes
Sometimes when I open my cities there are a bunch of buildings in holes. It also appears that there are a bunch of problems happening that weren't happening when I saved and closed the game the last ...
So if it's the roads that are causing this issue, why then does the problem go away when I delete the building but not the road? Also, if the roads are always off on their height, why do a quarter of the buildings in my city sink all at the same time? Why wouldn't they always be in the holes from the first building that goes up on that spot? I'm still investigating, but I don't see how that could be the problem. Also, the odds of me accidentally hitting the m or n button that many times is highly unlikely. Just saying...
Did you delete the roads & maglevs? You can do a "file > save as" & just use a copy to see what happens. Or delete them & redraw, and if you don't see a change, then exit without saving.
There are times when the residential or commercial buildings won't sink, but those parks or maybe the maglev stations will, causing it to look like the buildings are raised next to the area. Your resolution might have something to do with the way it looks so dramatic, too. I don't know how else to describe it.
I built this new section of my city yesterday. Today I logged in and almost all the buildings have sunken. Plus, I have other abandoned buildings because they are supposedly not getting power or there's too much sewage. Neither the power or sewage are an issue though.
I have deleted the roads and buildings. Once I delete them and they are re-built it doesn't seem to be an issue anymore. The minute I delete them, the land goes back to regular and the new building builds at the correct height.
The sunken buildings are also telling me they don't have power and the sewage is backed up...
Yep. All the sunken buildings are abandoned because they don't have electricity or sewer. So that's a new clue.
I'll say it again, it's very strange. It seems like you have a bunch of roads that are sunken underneath the roads you're building, somehow. No power or sewer would be because the roads are not attached. The thing is, it's very difficult to get a road underneath the ground - it generally turns into a tunnel, unless you go through a very painful process of drawing and redrawing while lowering the road each successive time. To do it accidentally would be highly unlikely, as you said earlier.
The only thing I can think of is that maybe your N key was stuck? Trial and error when drawing / redrawing, then deleting portions of the road might have left some pieces underneath the city?
In any case, if you delete and redraw and it fixes it, I guess that's your solution. I would view the power data map and bulldoze all parts that are showing red (no power) & redraw
