The issue I'm having is that when the Sim City launch window pops up, I hit 'Play' and the game doesn't open, but it creates a process in task manager for SimCity.exe.
The only time it works is after I reboot my PC.

same thing happened to me...i'm tellin you, go into options on your Origin Client (where it shows what games you own) and uncheck the In Game Origin box, close everything, and then run origin as administrator.
I can't even kill off Orgin.exe or Simcity.exe is the task manger.
Doesnt work so still no playing for me. also means i doubt there will be a solution in this weekend. Should havee waited atleast a few months untill EA works all these problems out.
Has anyone figured out a solution to this??

really loved this solved.
I tried a method but failed. What i did is download the game launcher then use files of install of dvd to overwrite some of it. so i overwrite everything but EAwebkit.dll the launcher fires up i see a black splash screen and dissapears. If i overwrite the EAwebkitt.dll the launcher appears but it says i dont have the right cd code and need to put that one in origin.
i still dont understand why the launcher wont start if you use download but if you install through dvd it will launch but then i dont have the right cd key.
