SIMCITY'S NOT WORKING
Simcity cannot connect to Origin, saying that function in Origin is not turned on. Also, I don't see friends in Simcity (you know, in this bar) correctly (I see one online forever, despite he's offline, one offline forever despite he's online and I don't see third guy whatsoever). My friends reported this same problem, but hesee friends correctly. I installed the game today, so it's updated. Below you can see screenshots (in polish, the 1st one means "Origin function has been disabled in origin application. This function is not available.", and the 2nd shows, that "Origin in game" is turned on. Thanks for any help ("Restart your computer or game" is not help).
Hi @KKrzys132 - This must be frustrating, especially if you want to play with friends using Origin. It might be that something is blocking Origin from fully executing or installing. Here are a couple of things to try:
- Set Origin.exe and SimCity.exe to both "Run As Administrator"
- Make sure Origin.exe and SimCity.exe are added to exception lists for your anti-virus, firewall and any other Internet security software like Ad-Block
- Disable proxy servers
- If you have BitDefender (anti-virus/malware program) or MSI Nahimic 2 (audio management program) installed, disable or uninstall. Both are known to block SimCity with weird consequences
- Perform a clean boot, then run the game. If it works, then enable each startup program one at a time, reboot and run the game again until you find which one is incompatible and blocking the game.
If you still can't get it working, try doing a full uninstall of Origin. Then do a reinstall using the full setup file from https://download.dm.origin.com/origin/live/OriginSetup.exe. Make certain to run OriginSetup.exe "As Adminstrator", and temporarily disable your antivirus and anti-malware programs. I hope this helps
